Partnership Is Our Goal

PST CLC, a.s. has been operating on the Czech and European markets since 1991. With more than

twenty workplaces throughout the Czech Republic, It is a major and reliable provider of customs,

warehousing and transport services of the highest quality and holds ISO, AEO, EcoVadis and other

top-level quality certificates. Luděk Kohout, sales manager of PST CLC, a.s., spoke with POSITIV

Business & Style Magazine about cooperation with the Mitsui-Soko Group and the implementation

of Japanese customs into work activities.

Mr Kohout, you are one of the major

providers of comprehensive logistics

services. Could you briefly tell us what the

company does and what the customer can

contact you about?

The company has long been known as PST

Ostrava customs declaration, which was

established in 1991 in Ostrava. In 2012,

the owner of the company changed when

PST CLC, a.s. became part of the Japanese

Mitsui-Soko Group and thus a global

logistics company.

We provide clients with services and

solutions based on a comprehensive

interconnected logistics chain beginning

with the customs clearance of goods through

a network of public and non-public customs

offices, moving to warehousing and variable

processing in three logistics centers located

throughout the Czech Republic, aided by fast

land, sea, air and, more recently, rail transport

for distribution to the final customer. The

latest comprehensive product can be

considered ‘first and last mile logistics’. For

our customers, which can also be a logistics

company, we operate a collection service

for piece shipments in the Czech Republic,

international transport, cross-dock services,

as well as short- and long-term storage in our

logistics centers with an area of more than

85,000 square meters.

Do you implement any Japanese customs

in your work?

The team of PST CLC, a.s., includes Japanese

colleagues who are in daily contact with

Czech colleagues across all departments.

This cooperation is highly effective and

beneficial for all of us. PST CLC, a.s. builds

on local experience from the European

market and at the same time allows the use

of global scope and the Japanese nature

of the approach to the matter—precision,

punctuality, long-term partnership, finding

the optimal solution and serious and

fair dealing. We most appreciate a very

professional approach, friendly and decent

behavior and also the fulfillment of the credo

that an agreement confirmed by handshake

is permanent, valid and unchangeable.

You have been operating on the market

as a member of the worldwide holding

company Mitsui-Soko Group since 2012.

What does this partnership bring you?

The partnership with Mitsui-Soko brings

a lot to PST. Thanks to Mitsui-Soko, with

more than 110 years of history and its global

network, PST is able to enjoy many benefits.

They bring us not only business with

Japanese corporations but also benefits in

terms of credit and fame. Also, we carry

out many projects with another Mitsui-Soko

corporation; this year we started a weekly

China Land Bridge service for our clients

from Shanghai to Prague as a joint business

with Mitex (Shanghai), a subsidiary of

Mitsui-Soko in China.

We will strengthen our partnership with

Mitsui-Soko and expand the scale of

business together.

In what position/role do you see PST CLC,

a.s. in, let‘s say, five years?

We aim to be a leading company in a niche

market of the EU, focusing on the Czech

Republic, Hungary and other countries of

Central-East Europe.

With the existing strength of customs

clearance, forwarding and logistic services,

we will aggressively expand business in the

CCE market. At this moment, PST CLC is

well known as one of the biggest customs

brokers in the Czech Republic, securing

every single business in Europe. However,

we will shift our resources to the CCE market

in the next five years and take a leading

position in the CCE market as a Japanese

logistics company.

Mr Kohout, thank you for the interview.
