a palác, jak jsme říkali dnešní aréně, byl
našlapaný doslova pod strop. Bylo to
úžasné. Samozřejmě doba je dnes jiná.
Když jsem hrával já, byl v Ostravě fotbal,
hokej, možná basket a volejbal. Lidé si
k nám snáz našli cestu. Dnes je spousta
jiných možností vyžití. Ale já bych byl
strašně rád, kdyby se diváci vrátili k nám
do hlediště a byla tady opět bouřlivá at-
mosféra. My k tomu samozřejmě musíme
přispět dobrými výkony a výsledky, pro-
tože je logické, že pokud nebudeme hrát
kvalitní hokej, těžko můžeme po někom
chtít, ať přijde do haly a dělá fantastickou
atmosféru. Vše vychází z nás a my udělá-
me vše pro to, aby si k nám fanoušci tu
cestu opět našli.
Jak byste nalákal fanoušky na letošní
sezonu? Je něco, čeho se nemůžete
dočkat?
Samotného hokeje se nemůžu dočkat. Ho-
keje s diváky hlavně. Příprava byla dlouhá,
náročná, soutěž už je to pravé. A nemůžu
se dočkat plné haly a výborné atmosféry.
A jak nalákat diváky? Jak jsem už řekl. Kva-
litními výkony. Ne každý zápas se dá vyhrát,
ale když odvedeme maximum, na ledě ne-
cháme vše, tak to lidé uvidí a budou odchá-
zet ze stadionu s tím, že tým na ledě nechal
srdce. Musíme bojovat a rvát se o výsle-
dek. Ukázat, že hrajeme za ty naše věrné
fandy, a pak věřím, že ti to ocení.
Pane Šimíčku, děkujeme Vám za rozhovor.
Mr Šimíček, you have held the position of
director since last May. Do you already
have some mention-worthy results, and,
on the other hand, what do you think still
requires more work?
In the first place, a great success that all
of us at Vítkovice achieved was surviving
this difficult COVID season. It was
a really big blow to everything, including
sports, meaning the hockey season was
not only difficult for our A-team, but also
our juniors. It was key for us to make it
through this tough time and I believe
that we have been able to return to an
at least somewhat regular season. This
is what meant the most for us: that we
made it through last season and that the
juniors did not leave to pursue other
hobbies. As for what we would like to
work on? Pushing the club to greater
heights is always the goal. Improving our
results as much as we can, pushing the
junior as well as the senior teams to the
next level.
The Corona virus has affected all
branches of not only industry but
also sport. Matches without a crowd,
antigen tests and great uncertainty. How
would you evaluate the last year for HC
VÍTKOVICE RIDERA?
Difficult. All of the testing and
announcements of anti-COVID measures.
