A Resort That Gives the Beskids Their Character
At the foot of Lysá hora, unforgettable stories have been unfolding for more than a hundred years. Resort Sepetná embodies the essence of a true mountain hotel, combining Beskid traditions, beautiful natural surroundings and modern comfort in a place with an unmistakable atmosphere.
Horský hotel Sepetná, Hotel Sluníčko, Bungalovy Sepetná and Relaxcentrum Sepetná together form a diverse resort for relaxation, memorable experiences and active stays. Guests can enjoy stylish rooms, apartments and bungalows, cuisine inspired by the Beskid landscape, as well as extensive leisure facilities including a swimming pool, water slide, sauna, bowling alley and sports hall. Sepetná, however, is much more than a place for a family holiday. Thanks to its flexible spaces, comfortable accommodation, professional services and nature right on the doorstep, it is an ideal choice for corporate events, parties, conferences, training sessions and teambuilding activities. It is equally well suited to sports camps and training stays, school trips and induction stays. Everything guests need is available in one place – from facilities for work and sport to dining, relaxation and accompanying or entertainment programmes for participants. Resort Sepetná is more than just accommodation. It is an experience, a brand and a destination in its own right in the Beskids, combining tradition with vision, a welcoming family atmosphere with corporate professionalism, and mountain nature with comfort. A place where memories are made, friendships are strengthened and team spirit is built.
200 Beds and 200 Chairs Under One Roof
One of Resort Sepetná’s unique advantages is its conference capacity for 200 participants, offering both 200 chairs and 200 beds under one roof. Conferences, training sessions, corporate parties and team–building events can therefore all take place conveniently in one location, with no need to travel between venues or deal with unnecessary organisational complications.
Resort director Lubomír Hampl tells us more. What do you see as the biggest draw for guests?
Definitely the comprehensive range of services. Guests appreciate not having to travel anywhere, because they have everything in one place. The Relaxcentrum, with its swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and massages, as well as the outdoor swimming pool by Hotel Sluníčko in summer, are popular with families and other guests alike. The sports hall, badminton facilities, climbing wall and outdoor pitches attract schools and sports groups. In the summer, we also offer e–bikes, scooters and guided excursions. Sepetná is a resort that lives in tune with the seasons, and that is something our guests appreciate.
Gastronomy is a key part of the guest experience today. What philosophy do you follow in the hotel restaurant?
Our cuisine is based on respect for the region. We work with local suppliers and seasonal ingredients, and we try to ensure that every dish has a story. This is reflected in our head chef’s signature dish, “Sepyho bašta” – a dish for the whole family. We offer traditional Beskid dishes with a modern twist, as well as cuisine for more discerning guests. Food here is not simply a necessity; it is part of the experience. In winter, for example, we grill chickens over an open fire in the restaurant. Guests remember the flavours, the aromas and the service.
How do you manage to cater to such different target groups?
It is a challenge, but at the same time one of our greatest strengths. We offer a wide range of services and facilities, which allows us to be very flexible. For families, we provide comfortable facilities, a children’s playground, a swimming pool with a water slide, an outdoor summer pool and entertainment programmes. For schools, we organise induction courses, guided excursions, sports activities and evening programmes. Sports teams appreciate our accommodation capacity, recovery facilities at the Relaxcentrum and tailored meal plans. Corporate clients, meanwhile, have access to conference halls with an exceptional capacity of up to 200 people, technical equipment, bespoke catering and the option of teambuilding activities in the countryside. The key is to listen to the needs of each group and connect them with what Sepetná has to offer.
You also work with the FC Baník Ostrava Academy and provide facilities for junior football teams from across Europe during their events. What have you taken away from this collaboration?
We have hosted junior teams including Manchester United, 1. FC Köln, Hertha Berlin and MTK Budapest. These young athletes, their coaches and accompanying staff often have experience of accommodation and facilities at Western European resorts, so their feedback is an important benchmark of quality for us. They particularly appreciate the comprehensive range of services, recovery facilities, flexible catering and the peaceful surroundings of the Beskids; some teams also return to us after having stayed here before.
What are your plans for the future?
We are continuously developing not only themed packages for guests, but also investments in technology and cooperation with regional partners. We want to strengthen our role as an experience centre in the Beskids. Sepetná has great potential not only for family holidays, but above all for corporate clients and their events. And that is what we want to focus on.

Sepetná has a history stretching back more than a century, but today it does not want to rely on tradition alone. According to the resort’s director, Lubomír Hampl, its current identity is built above all on the combination of the Beskid countryside, extensive facilities and a personal approach to guests. The resort caters to a wide range of visitors – from families and schools to sports teams and corporate clients.
