BUSINESS
COOP Morava retail chain and COOP
Centrum, which took place in the early
years of our company and resulted in
supplying local stores in the Opava region.
We currently supply the entire network of
these stores in this country and in Slovakia.
This was followed by other chains from the
traditional market, a large number of local
retailers and, last but not least, our e-shop.
However, we have never stayed long in one
place and are working constantly both on
the development of production technology
and on finding ways to sell our products.
What will happen to your socks and
society in general? Do you have any
visions for the future? Do you plan to
introduce any new products or expand
abroad in the near future?
We are currently dedicated to maximizing
the efficiency of the entire production and
logistics process. We have large investments
ahead of us, both in production technologies
leading to its automation and increased
productivity, as well as in increased
warehouse space, which is also associated
with streamlining logistics processes.
Outside the domestic market, we are
consolidating the position of our own brand
MORAVEC KVALITNí PONOŽKY s.r.o. on
the Slovak market. We supply individual
socks for important foreign clients, for
example, in Germany, Austria, Sweden, the
Netherlands, Switzerland and Russia. Thanks
to a good reputation, we are able to win
orders in these countries as well, which we
take as a great business card for the quality
of our products.
heel area to maximize durability and, most
importantly, a wider and flexible hem in the
calf area so as not to cause pressure. All
our socks have these properties, so you just
have to choose whether cotton, mercerised
cotton, merino wool or bamboo viscose
suits you better.
Among other things, you are engaged in
the production of custom socks. What
was the most interesting request that the
customer came up with for you?
Technologically, we have so far managed
every wish of our customers. We are often
approached by customers who have not
‘walked’ with other manufacturers and we
will fulfill their wishes in every detail.
Rather, these are deadline requirements,
especially for smaller orders up to 1,000
pairs, where customers need socks almost
immediately. The production of socks
consists of several consecutive processes
of knitting, sewing, fixing, forming, labeling,
packaging, etc.
Do you have socks in your wardrobe only
of your production or do you give other
brands a chance?
You are always learning and it is also good
to know your competition. In this regard,
we focus mainly on German, Italian and
American manufacturers. Technologically,
these are more or less similar socks as
those from our range, as well as materially.
What’s interesting are the designs, color
combinations and combinations of knitting
styles.
Is there such thing as a perfect office
sock? What material is it made of?
It‘s always about the customer‘s preferences,
especially when it comes to material. Such
a sock should, of course, have a comfortable
seam in the toe area, a reinforced toe and
