Journey to the past
Soutěžící ze základních škol nejprve zvládli vědo-
mostní test z historie anglicky mluvících zemí – sa-
mozřejmě v angličtině. Týmy základních škol poté
pokračovaly v soutěži na jednotlivých stanovištích,
kde získávaly šeky hodnot odpovídajících jejich vě-
domostem a znalostem. Ve škole je tak čekali piráti,
vikingští bojovníci, indiáni a další. V průběhu dne se
mohli soutěžící vyfotit ve fotokoutku a občerstvit se
typickým americkým jídlem. Po sečtení zisku bodů
vyhlásili moderátoři akce výsledky a soutěžícím byly
předány ceny.
Uspořádání soutěže umožnila nejen podpora Statu-
tárního města Ostravy, ale také městského obvodu
Ostrava-Vítkovice. Poděkování patří také České prů-
myslové zdravotní pojišťovně a Sdružení pro rozvoj
Moravskoslezského kraje.
Primary school competitors fi rst passed a knowledge
test on the history of English-speaking countries—
in English, of course. Primary school teams then
continued to compete at individual sites where
they obtained checks of values corresponding to
their knowledge and understanding. Pirates, Viking
warriors, Native Americans and others were waiting
for them at school. During the day, competitors
could take pictures in a photo corner and refresh
themselves with typical American food. After
adding up the points, the moderators of the event
announced the results and the competitors were
awarded prizes.
The organization of the competition was made
possible not only with the support of the Statutory
City of Ostrava, but also by the Ostrava Vítkovice
city district. Thanks also go to the Czech Industrial
Health Insurance Company and the Association for
the Development of the Moravian-Silesian Region.
