We Are Not a Conference,

We Are HRparty

HRko-HR party & festival is focused on how to improve people‘s lives and how to build

a corporate culture in companies. Great lectures, an electric atmosphere, lots of case studies, tips

and tricks—simply the best conferences ever; you will hear it all from the participants of previous

years and certainly from this year, as well. Be a part of the amazing HRko 2021 event or the

#wearenotaconferenceweareHRparty. Our questions have been answered by the organizers of this

event, Jiří Kratochvíl and Petr Juříček.

Can you briefly introduce us to the HRko

conference and how it works?

Jiří & Petr: I would like to mention that

HRko is not a typical conference. HRko is

an HR party, as we call it. We combined the

educational elements of the conference, i.e.

very interesting case studies from HR and

the top of the Czech human resources scene

with entertainment in the form of a live DJ,

great catering, a Coca-Cola chillout zone,

a workout area, virtual reality and a Data

Lab. In general, HRko is an event, thanks

to which we want to show the heads of

companies from all over the Czech Republic

that working with people pays off and it does

not have to be expensive at all. Because

a satisfied employee means an effective

employee, which means they will ultimately

bring the company much more sales than

an uninvolved one. We show this in the

example of companies such as IKEA, Bar,

which does not exist, Škoda Transportation,

VZP, UniCredit Group and TCC online,

LIKO-S, Y Soft and others. In addition, we

came up with the whole concept in such

a way that an HR department or company

CEO comes to the event, listens to interesting

know-how, discusses recruitment needs with

LMC in person, can talk to all the speakers

face to face but can also hire one of ten

talented students of VŠB-TUO, who will also

introduce themselves to the audience here.

So it is a very complex event. And most

importantly, the event is in Ostrava, so 350

listeners and locals do not have to travel

across half of the country for a similar event.

Who is the conference for and what HR

issues is it focused on?

Jiří & Petr: HRko is intended for everyone

who works with people and wants to lead

their teams effectively. The primary group

are people from HR, but also, and perhaps

especially, the heads of companies because

they are the drivers of corporate culture.

Company leaders set the direction. As we

say internally: HR, take your boss to HRko. As

for the programme, it is quite varied. Seven

speakers and seven companies will perform

at HRko on the Solitea VEMA main stage.

Everyone can present one specific project in

the form of a case study. And the purpose

is for the student to know why this project

was implemented in the company, the

state of things before the implementation,

its process and the final effect. And then

they can apply it to their company based

on this case. In general, the main topic is

working with people and increasing their

involvement, which will then be reflected in

the company‘s economic results.

Are you already organizing the fourth year,

what are your expectations for this year?

Jiří & Petr: The expectations are high

simply because the concept of HR has

undergone major changes. Once again, we

have added a number of new and similar

activities in the world that are unusual, such

as the Recruitment stage, but also the Data

Laboratory, etc. The concept of the event is

very unique. Then we had COVID, which

canceled the original fourth year, and we are

currently seeing a huge hunger for offline

events, so at this point we can say that we

are basically sold out or almost sold out. The

mood among people is completely different

than a year ago and this is reflected in their

interest in HRko. We are very much looking

forward to what Roman Vojtek will present

as moderator.
