Mrs Director, what is the difference
between ‘basic ALVE products’ and
‘special constructs’? Who are these
products intended for?
The company’s production programme
is divided into two separate divisions.
The output from the standard product
division is aluminum steps, ladders, bridges,
scaffolding and related accessories.
These are products to be used at home
and professionally in companies or by
freelancers. These products are available in
a wide retail network and we all see them
in our lives.
The special construction division extends
our portfolio for customers for whom the
standard products are not sufficient due to
technology, spatial or safety reasons and
who need to solve accessibility problems
by a solution tailored to their needs. These
products are accessibility solutions mainly
in heights or spaces where you need to get
past some area, for example an assembly
pit, various trays or roller tracks. These
products are mainly intended for operation
and maintenance in various industrial fields.
Why did you decide to extend the
production programme? What is your
vision?
The company has been on the market for
twenty-nine years. During this time, market
and customer needs have changed very
dynamically. Things that were sufficient
in the 90s are not relevant in an era of
automation. Also, the demands for the safety
and reliability of the products have increased
and we wanted to adapt to this. Our vision is
to provide the customer a quality, durable
product with high added value.
How do you react to the demands for
quality and safety that are continually
getting more strict?
All our products are made according
to the European standard EN 131; the
standard production division also has the
TUV certificate on top of that. The special
constructs also follow other standards.
We use highly durable materials and fixed
connections, mainly welded. Thus, we ensure
the stability and durability of the products that
experience daily use. We are equipped with
a safety lab where we are able to perform
strength tests according to the above-
mentioned standards. For each product,
we either have a certificate or a declaration
of conformity to relevant standards. Input
material quality and production technology
are the deciding factor for the product. As
a matter of course, we always apply input,
intermediary and output checks.
Can you describe the whole process of
an order? Do you also participate in the
project phase?
Usually, the customer comes to us with an
issue they need to resolve. The main motive
is usually because they have acquired some
new technology and have needs related to
safe operation or maintenance; worst-case
scenarios are injuries in the workplace and
pressure for work safety. If it is a simple
solution, it is possible to communicate
a solution remotely. In an ideal case, the
customer sends the design for us to assess.
In such cases a more complex, sophisticated
solution is called for, technicians go directly
