The once wooden town, pleasant and characterful, fragrant with the wood of the ancient fir trees from which it was built, is situated on both banks of the Bečva River. At the beginning of the twentieth century, there was a world-famous climatic spa in the picturesque valley at the foot of the memorable Radhošt’ mountain. In recent decades, Rožnov pod Radhoštěm has transformed into a modern tourist, cultural, commercial and industrial centre. Surrounded by sunlit meadows, blue mountains, hillsides scented with juniper and blueberry, the town has kept its friendly face to this day. Those who have visited Rožnov are always happy to return.

Rožnov is situated in a perfect location for recreation and sport. The town and its surroundings are equipped with a number of sports facilities for winter and summer sports. In its surroundings there are hundreds of kilometres of marked hiking trails and cycling routes, at altitudes ranging from 350 to 1150 m above sea level. Fishing enthusiasts can test their skills in trout waters or in the waters of dams and ponds located in the nearby surroundings of Rožnov.
Currently, more than half a million tourists visit Rožnov pod Radhoštěm every year coming from the Czech Republic, all over Europe and overseas.
Industrial Complex
One of the major employers in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm is undoubtedly ON Semiconductor Czech Republic. It was established in 2003 by the merger of TESLA SEZAM (semiconductor chip production) and TEROSIL (silicon production). Both of these companies were successor organisations of the former state enterprise TESLA, whose tradition is continued by the current semiconductor production. The company currently has more than 1,700 employees and is based in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. It is involved in integrated circuit design, silicon board manufacturing and semiconductor chip manufacturing.
In the former industrial complex we find another company that has managed to break into the world. REMAK is the largest Czech manufacturer of high-quality air-conditioning equipment with a tradition dating back to 1992. They employ around 250 people at the headquarters in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, which covers an area of over 32,000 m2.
