What Effects Have Increased Energy

Prices Had on the Operation of Your

Company?

Neustále pracujeme na zlepšování

udržitelnosti a energetické účinnosti naší

výroby, čímž snižujeme náklady i vliv

na životní prostředí. Z krátkodobějších

opatření jsme za účelem úspory energie

zavedli např. důslednou filtraci ochranných

olejů do strojů a zařízení, která nám

umožní jejich opakované použití, vyměnili

jsme 3 000 svítidel za nová, úspornější

LED svítidla, čímž uspoříme 6 800 MWh

za rok, také vypínáme elektřinu u zařízení

odprášení v době odstávky výroby,

čímž uspoříme desítky kilowatthodin.

Nyní se také zaměřujeme na snížení

spotřeby zemního plynu až o 13 %

oproti předchozímu roku navýšením

podílu teplé vsázky na pásové trati.

Z dlouhodobého hlediska pracujeme i na

snížení naší závislosti na fosilních palivech,

a to náhradou stávající technologie výroby

oceli za nové hybridní elektrické pece

a pomocí obnovitelných zdrojů energie.

Tím velmi zásadně snížíme emise uhlíku

a omezíme náklady.

We are always aiming to make our

production more sustainable and more

energy efficient, reducing costs and

protecting the environment. In the short

term, we have introduced a number of

energy saving projects including the

thorough filtration of protective oils for

machinery and equipment. This allows us

to reuse them by replacing 3,000 bulbs

across the steelworks with new LED

lighting, which saves 6,800 MWh per year.

We are also switchiing off the electricity

at the dedusting plants during production

downtimes, saving tens of kilowatt hours.

We are also aiming to reduce our natural gas

consumption by up to 13% by increasing

the share of hot charge at our hot strip

mill. In the long term we will reduce our

dependence on fossil fuels by replacing

our existing steelmaking technology with

hybrid electric arc furnaces, supported

by renewable sources, which will reduce

costs while dramatically reducing our

carbon footprint.

Firmy se snaží zvyšovat produktivitu, snižovat náklady a investovat do úspor energie, kde je to možné. Nárůst je ale tak

velký, že musí aspoň částečně promítat

zvýšené náklady do cen koncových produktů. Růst cen energie má především na

firmy, které k výrobě nutně potřebují velké

množství elektřiny či plynu, fatální dopad.

Společně s dalšími zástupci zaměstnavatelů proto apelujeme na vládu, aby vysoké

ceny energie pomohla řešit. Podařilo se

nám prosadit odpuštění poplatku za podporované zdroje energie v ceně elektřiny

od října a vyplacení kompenzací nepřímých nákladů. Firmy postižené vysokou

cenou plynu ale na podporu nadále čekají.

podle Dočasného krizového rámce schváleného EU, který cíleně dočasně podrží

postižené firmy.

Companies are striving to increase

productivity and decrease costs while

investing into energy savings wherever

possible. Currently, however, the cost

increases are high enough to where they

are unavoidably reflected in product

pricing. The spike in energy prices is

having a fatal effect on companies that

absolutely require the usage of large

amounts of electricity or gas in their

production. This is why we, and several

other representatives of employers, are

appealing to the government to help solve

the high energy prices. So far we managed

to enforce waivers of fees related to

supported energy sources in electricity

bills, and compensation payments for

indirect expenses. Companies affected

by increased natural gas prices are still,

however, waiting to receive support.

The industrial association is directing

their efforts towards creating a program

that would help temporarily maintain

these companies under a temporary crisis

framework approved by the EU.
