A New Era of Collaboraon
in Hi-Tech and High-Precision Machinery
The signing of a cooperaon memorandum between VŠB-TUO and the rapidly growing Czech
company specialising in highly precise machining, DG Soluons, symbolises the connecon
between science, technology and precision machining.
velmi dlouhou tradici. Jsme proto nadšeni
z možnosti spolupracovat s takto důleži-
tou institucí a dále rozvíjet potenciál kra-
je. Dnešní dohoda zdůrazňuje naši snahu
o posilování výzkumu a vývoje v České
republice.“
Slavnostního podpisu se zúčastnil také
náměstek hejtmana Moravskoslezského
kraje, pan Jakub Unucka: „Memorandum
je další krok Moravskoslezského kraje na
cestě od těžby uhlí k těžbě dat. Dříve byly
hlavním znakem našeho kraje hutě, vyso-
ké pece a důlní věže. Při vší úctě k naší
průmyslové historii a velké dřině statisíců
lidí z našeho kraje přišla doba, kdy to chce
změnu. Stáváme se důležitým technolo-
gickým hráčem, podporujeme inovace,
sledujeme trendy, jdeme s dobou. Takže
je logické, že místo uhlí pro nás bude ty-
pický spíše křemík a vodík.“
K dalším klíčovým bodům memoranda
patří vytvoření společného výzkumného
pracoviště a rozvoj spolupráce při posky-
tování informací, studijní podpory a kon-
zultací pro studenty VŠB-TUO.
Podpisu memoranda předcházelo pra-
covní jednání odborných skupin z VŠB
a společnosti DG Solutions. Spoluzakla-
datel společnosti Michal Durkáč zároveň
oficiálně potvrdil zahájení faktické spolu-
práce na projektu v oblasti automatizace
řídících systémů.
O DG Solutions:
Společnost DG Solutions, a.s. (DGS) je
rychle rostoucí 100% česká společnost
specializovaná na vysoce přesné strojíren-
ství se specifickým zaměřením na výzkum
a vývoj v polovodičovém průmyslu. Klíčo-
vou oblastí odborných znalostí společnos-
ti DGS je obrábění a zpracování pokro-
čilých materiálů, jako je molybden-měď,
diamant-měď a monokrystalické materiály
do různých velikostí a tvarů.
This memorandum sets the standard for
cooperation in the field of application of
advanced automation methods, digitisation
of industrial processes, application of
Industry 4.0 principles and other research
and development activities. All of it aims
to strengthen scientific and technological
excellence in the Moravian-Silesian region.
One long term goal of the company is to
create a research centre and invest into
serial production of semiconductor parts.
The document was signed by the dean of
the Faculty of Materials and Technology
at VŠB-TUO, Prof. Kamila Janovská:
“This partnership opens a new door for
the cooperation between the academic
sphere and the high precision machining
industry within the field of semiconductors,
which is a market with great added value.
Furthermore, the semiconductor industry is
one of global significance and this is another
reason why I am glad that we are able to
develop new projects within this field.”
The Department of Industrial Systems
Management is the guarantor of
the cooperation. Director of the department,
Doc. Šárka Vilamová, specified the topics of
joint projects: “The mutual cooperation will
mainly be focused on the field of digitisation
of partial data within individual processes
and its processing and subsequent
evaluation, which makes use of neuron
networks and genetic algorithms. Other
collaborative efforts will include the sharing
of measurement analyses and consultancy
with the staff at the Faculty of Materials
and Technology. These activities will have
the aim of preparing joint projects from
the aforementioned fields.”
Chairman of the Board at DG SOlutions
a.s., Pavel Filák added: “Machining
holds a long tradition in the Moravian-
Silesian region. We are therefore very
excited to have the opportunity to work
with such an important institution in
furthering the region’s potential. Today’s
memorandum emphasises our efforts in
bolstering the research and development
sector of Czechia.”
Deputy governor of the Moravian-Silesian
region, Jakub Unucka, also attended
the signing ceremony and stated: “This
memorandum is another step for the
Moravian-Silesian region taking it away
from coal mining and towards data mining.
Previously, smelters, blast furnaces and
mining towers were what our region
was famous for. With all respect to our
industrial history, and the work of hundreds
of thousands of people from our region,
the time has come for change. We are
becoming an important technological force,
we support innovation, we keep an eye on
trends, and we go with the times. It only
follows that now, instead of coal, we should
move on to silicon and hydrogen.”
Other key points of the memorandum
include the creation of a joint research centre
and the development of collaboration in
information sharing, study support and
consultation for VŠB-TUO students.
A meeting involving groups from VŠB and
DG Solutions preceded the memorandum
signing. At the same time, cofounder of
the company, Michal Durkáč, officially
confirmed the beginning of cooperation
on a project in the field of control system
automation.
