ROZHOVOR

Pane předsedo, jaká byla Italsko-česká

obchodní a průmyslová komora před

institucemi, abychom je mohli informovat o potřebách našich členských firem;

druhým cílem je zvýšit profesionální

úroveň služeb, které jsou šité na míru

našim členům; a nakonec třetím cílem

je nalézt nové obchodní aktivity Komory, protože ty klasické kvůli pandemii

zanikly.

obě naše země možnost dalšího růstu obchodní výměny a spolupráce.

Pane předsedo, děkujeme Vám za rozhovor.

CAMIC Strengthens

Italian-Czech Business Interests

The Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAMIC), a member of Assocamerestero,

was established in 2001. It currently has a membership base of 400 Italian and Italian-Czech

entrepreneurs operating on the Czech market.

Today it is the second largest foreign

chamber of commerce in the Czech

Republic with its main office in the centre

of Prague and a secondary office in Brno at

the Exhibition Grounds at the headquarters

of the Honorary Consulate of Italy in Brno.

CAMIC develops economic and business

relations, contacts and activities in Italy and

the Czech Republic in cooperation with

institutions, organisations, chambers of

commerce, associations and other economic

associations. It carries out communication,

information, extension and educational

activities. It organises economic missions,

promotional events, delegations, trade

fairs and other projects facilitating business

activities for Italian and Czech companies.

CAMIC provides a range of tailor-made

services to Italian companies interested in

entering the Czech market and in business

development in the Czech Republic.

Another activity is sending Czech buyers

to events and trade fairs in Italy and other

specific activities. CAMIC also acts as

a representative of the Italian Tourism

Headquarters (ENIT) for the Czech Republic

and the Association for Industrial Automation

and Mechatronics (AIdAM).

INTERVIEW

Dear president, what was the ItalianCzech Chamber of Commerce and

Industry like twenty years ago and what

is it like today?

Twenty years ago, the chamber was

founded with the aim of promoting

economic and business relations between

Italy and the Czech Republic and, in

the beginning, as a tool that united all

Italian companies operating in the Czech

Republic. Twenty years ago was the right

moment for the activities aimed at making

Italian companies known within the Czech

Republic. Today, the Chamber’s objective

is more extensive: we aim to be a 360°

reference point for the Italian-Czech

business community.

What are the goals and plans for your

members in the near future?

Today, the chamber has several main

objectives: the first is to establish a closer

relationship with political institutions so

that we can inform them of the needs

of our member companies; the second

objective is to increase the professional

level of services that are tailored to our

members; and finally, the third objective

is to find new business activities for

the chamber, since the classic ones have

disappeared due to the pandemic.

Foreign trade between Italy and

the Czech Republic already returned

to pre-pandemic levels last year.

What do you think will happen this year

— do you still see potential for growth?

Between 2019 and 2021, foreign trade

between Italy and the Czech Republic

increased enormously. And if trade

grew even during the pandemic, there

is certainly potential for growth, as Italy

and the Czech Republic currently show

great synergies and are very mutually

complementary. Given that companies

have lost the Russian and Ukrainian

markets because of the war, there is

an opportunity for both our countries to

further increase trade and cooperation.

Mr Manghi, thank you for the interview.
