Již tři roky je 1st International School of Ostrava součástí mezinárodního projektu A table citoyens! De la Culture alimentaire européenne aux enjeux humanitaires. Projekt je financován z programu Erasmus+ a jsou do něj zapojeny školy z Francie, Španělska, Rumunska a Litvy. 

Cílem tohoto partnerství je umožnit rozvoj a posílení mezinárodní spolupráce, sdílet a porovnávat myšlenky, nápady a metody. Tematicky nejde jen o oblast gastronomie těchto zemí a poznávání lokálních produktů, ale také obecně o problematiku zdravé výživy a prevenci poruch příjmu potravy. Skrze gastronomii tak studenti poznají různé tradice, kulturu a zvyky daných zemí a zlepšují si komunikaci vedle angličtiny v dalším cizím jazyce, a to ve francouzštině a španělštině. 

Na konci dubna 2022 se v Ostravě poprvé za tři roky trvání projektu setkaly školy všech pěti účastnických zemí najednou, což bylo velkým vyústěním této intenzivní spolupráce. Zahraničním kolegům jsme představili potraviny a produkty spojené nejen s Moravskoslezským regionem. Zavítali jsme do výrobny štramberských uší, do olomoucké čokoládovny Zora, vyslechli jsme poutavou přednášku o unikátní limonádě Kofola, seznámili se s výrobou piva. Velkým zážitkem byla návštěva Dolní oblasti Vítkovice s jejich zemědělským muzeem a s večerním opékáním českých špekáčků.

V rámci tohoto projektu naši čeští studenti průběžně navštívili rumunské město Ploiesti, francouzské Nantes, litevský Alytus a španělské městečko Puerto Lumbreras, z kterých si odnesli rovněž spoustu zajímavých, nejen gastronomických, podnětů. Studenti díky těmto výjezdům pronikají do oblastí klíčových pro mezinárodní vzdělávání, jako jsou inkluze a diverzita, participace, flexibilita a inovace. 

Školy, které si vytvářejí mezinárodní sítě, zvyšují přenos znalostí a výzkumu a také potenciál svých studentů. Internacionalizace vzdělávání je důležitým přínosem pro rozvoj vzdělávání a budování sociálního a ekonomického potenciálu. Velkým benefitem neformálního vzdělávání je v neposlední řadě schopnost rozvoje celé osobnosti studenta, tedy i jeho emocí a hodnot. 

A Table Citoyens! To the Table, Citizens!

For three years now, the 1st International School of Ostrava has been a part of the international project A table citoyens! De la culture alimentaire européenne aux enjeux humanitaires (From European food culture to humanitarian issues). The project is funded by the Erasmus+  programme and involves schools from France, Spain, Romania and Lithuania.

The purpose of this partnership is to enable the development and strengthening of international cooperation to share and compare ideas, opinions, and methods. Thematically, it is not only about the gastronomy of these countries and learning about local products but also about the issue of healthy eating and the prevention of eating disorders in general. Through gastronomy, students learn about the different traditions, cultures and customs of the countries and improve their communication in a foreign language in addition to English, namely French and Spanish.

At the end of April 2022, the schools of all five participating countries met in Ostrava for the first time in the three years of the project, which was a great outcome of this deep cooperation. We introduced our colleagues to food and products related not only to the Moravian-Silesian Region. We visited the Štramberk ears factory; the Zora chocolate factory in Olomouc; we listened to an engaging lecture about the unique Kofola soda and got acquainted with beer production. Another great experience was a visit to the Lower Vítkovice area with their agricultural museum and an evening roasting of Czech ‘špekáček’ sausages.

As part of this project, our Czech students then visited the Romanian city of Ploiesti, French Nantes, Lithuanian Alytus, and the Spanish town of Puerto Lumbreras, from which they also received many interesting incentives that were not just gastronomic. Because of these trips, students get to know key areas for international education such as inclusion and diversity, participation, flexibility and innovation.

Schools that create international networks increase the transfer of knowledge and research as well as the potential of their students. The internationalization of education is an important contribution to the  development of education and the building of social and economic potential. Finally, the great benefit of informal education is the ability to develop the entire personality of the student, which means their emotions and values.
