Akord and Poklad,

Two Places with Infinite Possibilities

Let’s join Darina Daňková, the managing director of AKORD & POKLAD, and take a closer look and

let ourselves be guided through a few of their significant events.

The Patriots

Over the past few years the MS Region

Patriots have met 9 times in Akord. In

2022 they decided to try out the new

premises of Poklad. All of the spaces came

alive with interesting personalities, eager

visitors, and endless flavors as part of

a food festival. So many inspiring thoughts

and ideas in one place! But before the first

visitor arrived, there were countless

meetings between the organisers and

our implementation team. The layout

of the various activities, the technical

arrangements in all areas, the positioning

of the stands in the ballroom... It’s always

a challenge the first time. The reward

was the enthusiasm of the guests and the

booking of the date for 2023.

HRko

The largest event in the HR industry in

the Czech Republic filled all the rooms

in Poklad for the first time. The original

2 stages have grown to 6 and the program

was spiced up with interesting HR

rooms. The client paid attention to every

detail- the spaces were measured, the

discussions were held with suitable

lighting, the location of each counter

and stand, navigation in the building, and

parking. In addition, the preparation was

complicated by a theatre performance

taking place the day before the event,

so the stage in the theatre hall had to be

rebuilt during the night. The success of

the event is evidenced by the booking

of the next date.

SchooLink

The SchooLink conference is organised by

the Prague House of Foreign Services. The

modern and diverse premises of Poklad

impressed the organisers on their first visit.

One of the participants of the two days of

lectures and workshops said that she felt

like she was at a foreign conference - that

was a big compliment for us.

Japanese Days

Visitors to the Japanese Days, held for

the first time in Akord, explored Japanese

culture with all their senses: concerts,

theatres, martial arts presentations,

workshops,

lectures

and

dance

performances took place. There were

many Japanese specialities to taste. It was

interesting to run into geishas, samurais,

Japanese artists and other personalities in

the corridors. Our technicians had to be

on full alert at all times. On stage, different

genres changed in quick succession: the

piano replaced the mats, archery targets

were complemented by protective nets,

sabre fights followed the rear projection,

and bamboo grids filled with water and

flew through the air.

Balls

Akord is traditionally associated with

dancing and entertainment. Before

covid, there were 23 balls per season!

The Ostrava-South district will celebrate

it’s 30th representative ball here in 2023. It

is great that Akord is “inflatable”. If tickets

sell out in one hall, we can offer more and

more rooms... up to 900 people can fit in

Akord in one evening- proms,corporate

balls and discos. It’s not uncommon

to have two different balls going on at

the same time. And, of course, dance

classes by Zdeněk Chlopčík, who said,

“Akord is actually our second home.”

This is just a tiny fraction of what happens

at Akord and Poklad. Check it out at www.

akord-poklad.cz. We look forward to

seeing you there.
