We’re Growing and Modernising.
Ambious Plans Turning into Reality
MSV elektronika connues its dynamic growth, modernisaon and innovaon, strengthening
its posion as a key player in electronic systems for rail vehicles. CEO and Managing Director
Ing. Radek Škrobánek, MBA, together with Head of HR Nikol Černínová, talk about current
projects, the company’s development and plans for the future.
After taking on the role of CEO at
MSV elektronika last year, you set
your sights on rail vehicles and the
installation of electronic subsystems.
How successful have you been in turning
this vision into reality?
From the outset, I had a clear vision – to
focus on the installation of electronic
subsystems in rail vehicles, whether
developed in-house or integrated from
other manufacturers‘ solutions. Today,
I can say we are succeeding.
We’ve leased a hall in Ostrava where
we operate as a system integrator,
implementing ETCS systems, train
protection systems. We are currently
finalising a prototype installation of the
SSOD LAT system for door control in Class
276 vehicles for Czech Railways.
However, our current premises are no
longer sufficient, so we are negotiating the
lease or purchase of an additional hall.
This expansion is opening up new business
opportunities, which we are eager to
pursue further.
How do you ensure the quality and
reliability of your electronic systems?
Every one of our products undergoes
testing in our newly built, state-of-the-
art testing facility. In the past, we relied
on external test centres, where waiting
times could stretch up to four months. If
any adjustments were needed, the entire
process had to start over, which caused
significant delays.
That’s why we decided to establish our
own testing centre in a former bakery
building. As a result, we’re now able to
begin testing new products as early as the
day after production, and any necessary
modifications are completed within
a week.
Having our own test facility significantly
speeds up both development and
certification, while giving us much greater
control over the entire process.
Are you planning to certify your testing
facility? What benefits would that bring?
Yes, and we are very close to completing
the certification process. Once certified,
we’ll be able not only to significantly speed
up our own development, but also to offer
testing services to other companies. Our
goal is to support the technical community
that relies on such services.
The facility is equipped with top-of-the-line
technologies, including an EMC chamber
and a photometric hall, allowing us to
deliver comprehensive, high-level testing.
The photometric hall enables us to precisely
measure the parameters of our LED lighting
and ensure full compliance with relevant
standards, which is something that not all
competitors can guarantee.
Your modernisation plans also include
a new technical centre. What can we
expect from it?
In May, we relocated our staff from the
main building to new production facilities,
freeing up space for reconstruction. We
are now transforming that space into
a modern technical centre that will bring
together our developers, designers and
project engineers.
Until now, they’ve worked separately,
which made collaboration more difficult.
This unified space will significantly
improve communication and efficiency.
The centre will be modern and fully in line
with current industry standards.
The modernisation also extends to the entire
building – the next phase will focus, for
instance, on the commercial department.
You focus not only on the domestic
market but also on international
contracts. How successful have you been
in securing them?
This marks a significant shift for us. In
recent months, we have successfully
passed all audits conducted by major
international companies. One of them was
One of them was an audit by
Stadler, aer which we began
supplying LED lighng for the
metro system in Taiwan.
