Will you be expanding cooperation
with Czech suppliers?
We have a long-standing cooperation with Czech
suppliers who provide components for our rail vehicles.
This collaboration is important to us, and we intend to
continue developing it. As part of our plans, we are
also considering expanding our network to include
new suppliers who offer innovative solutions that can
be applied to our products.
What is your cooperation with universities like?
We see great potential in this area, which is why we
plan to expand our activities related to professional
internships and trainee programmes, both in the Czech
Republic and at other Stadler branches. We are also
developing specialised workshops and supervising
thesis projects, giving students the opportunity to gain
deeper insight into our industry and grow their skills.
At the same time, we aim to take part in joint research
projects and support innovation.
How does Stadler contribute
to the development of zero-emision
technologies and what is your experience?
Stadler built the world’s first battery-electric multiple
unit approved for passenger use back in 2017. By the
end of 2024, 280 trains with alternative drive systems
had been sold, many of which are already successfully
in operation. Stadler’s market leadership in the area of
„green solutions“ is also underpinned by the Guinness
World Record set in March 2024 with the FLIRT H
2
.
The hydrogen train covered 2,803 kilometres in
Colorado (USA) on a single tank of fuel – travelling
further than any other hydrogen train before it.
Our branch is currently working on two projects
involving new battery-powered vehicles for Lithuania
and Denmark. We are handling the complete design
– from the initial concept to final implementation,
including vehicle certification. In the future, we would
also like to support our colleagues in other locations
by contributing to the design of hydrogen-powered
vehicles.
Thank you for the interview.
Stadler is a global leader in green
technologies for rail vehicles.
