The vision to transform the former industrial

site into the future social hub of the

municipality is undoubtedly an ambitious

development plan. I appreciate the

coordinated and purposeful cooperation

between the site’s owner, RIDERA Ostravice,

and the leadership of the municipality of

Ostravice – both in shaping the vision for

its future appearance and in implementing

each phase of the project gradually.

Right at the gateway to hiking trails

leading to Lysá hora, the highest peak of

the Beskydy Mountains, a unique space

will emerge – one dedicated to leisure,

cultural and community events, sport,

and residential living, complete with

appropriate infrastructure. At the same

time, the site will continue to serve as

a reminder of its industrial past. I wish the

investor and the municipality unwavering

enthusiasm and success in their joint

efforts to create the future social centre

known as “Upper Ostravice Area”.

Vize proměny bývalého industriálního

areálu na budoucí společenské centrum

obce je nesporně ambiciózní rozvojový

záměr. Cením si koordinované a cílevě-

domé spolupráce vlastníka areálu společ-

nosti RIDERA Ostravice s vedením obce

Ostravice, a to jak při tvorbě vize jeho

budoucí podoby, tak při postupné tvorbě

jednotlivých realizačních etap projektu.

Přímo u vstupní brány k turistickým

výšlapům na nejvyšší vrchol pohoří Beskyd

Lysou horu vznikne unikátní prostor pro

volnočasové vyžití, kulturně-společenské

akce, sport i bydlení s příslušnou infra-

strukturou. Zároveň zůstane i místem

připomínajícím svou industriální historii.

Přeji investorovi i obci neutuchající elán

a úspěch při jejich společném úsilí vytvořit

budoucí společenské centrum „Horní ob-

last Ostravice“.

Na význam WOODARÉNY jsme se zeptali i dalších osobnos, které dlouhodobě sledují vývoj

v oblas kultury, turismu i proměn veřejného prostoru. V jejich slovech se odráží ocenění

vizionářského přístupu i důraz na respekt k historii místa, jeho novou roli v komunitním životě

a potenciál ovlivnit vnímání celého beskydského prostoru.

We asked several prominent gures for their thoughts on the signicance

of WOODARÉNA – individuals who have long observed developments in culture, tourism,

and the evoluon of public spaces. Their words reect an appreciaon for the project’s visionary

approach, its respect for the site’s history, its new role in community life, and its potenal

to reshape percepons of the enre Beskydy region.
