The sawmill in Ostravice is, for me

personally, a lasting reminder of the

generations of ancestors who contributed

to the wise stewardship of the Beskydy

forests under the administration of the

Archbishops of Olomouc. At the time, this

sawmill was one of the most advanced

woodworking facilities, a testament to the

progressive technologies used here.

Today, thanks to modern technologies

and innovations, the sawmill site is being

transformed into a space that will offer

relaxation, entertainment, and education.

I am truly pleased that this historic site

will be brought back to life in a way that

honours the legacy left by our forebears.

I believe this project will bring joy and

benefit to both the current residents of the

mountain village of Ostravice and its many

visitors.

WOODARÉNA OSTRAVICE je inspirativ-

ním příkladem toho, jak lze s respektem

k historii a vizí pro budoucnost proměnit

opuštěný průmyslový areál v živé komu-

nitní centrum. V Moravskoslezském kraji

máme štěstí na investory, kteří se rozhod-

nou z vlastních prostředků podpořit pro-

jekty s přidanou hodnotou nejen ekono-

mickou, ale i společenskou.

Díky takovým iniciativám vznikají místa,

kde se lidé mohou setkávat, sportovat

a kulturně se vyžívat. Skvělým příkladem

je i náš Pojez fest, který se zde již usku-

tečnil a v září se sem opět vrátíme. Takové

akce dokazují, že WOODARÉNA se stává

přirozeným centrem kulturního a spo-

lečenského dění, což je pro celý region

obrovským přínosem.

WOODARÉNA OSTRAVICE is an inspiring

example of how, with respect for history

and a vision for the future, an abandoned

industrial site can be transformed into

a vibrant community hub. In the Moravian-

Silesian Region, we are fortunate to have

investors who choose to support pro-

jects that bring not only economic but

also social value—entirely from their own

resources.

Thanks to such initiatives, we see the cre-

ation of spaces where people can come

together, enjoy sports, and engage in cultu-

ral activities. A great example is our Pojez

Fest, which has already taken place here—

and we’ll be returning again in September.

Events like this prove that WOODARÉNA

is becoming a natural centre for cultural

and social life, which is a tremendous asset

for the entire region.

Pila v Ostravici je pro mne osobně trvalá

připomínka generací předků, kteří se po-

díleli na moudrém hospodaření v beskyd-

ských lesích pod správou olomouckých

arcibiskupů. Ve své době byla tato pila

jedním z nejmodernějších dřevařských

provozů, což svědčí o pokročilých techno-

logiích, které zde byly využívány.

Dnes se díky moderním technologiím

a inovacím areál pily proměňuje v prostor,

který nabídne odpočinek, zábavu i vzdě-

lávání. Jsem velmi rád, že tento historický

areál naplní nový život s respektem k his-

torickému dědictví, které zde zanechali

naši předkové. Věřím, že tento projekt při-

nese radost a užitek jak současným oby-

vatelům horské obce Ostravice, tak jejím

četným návštěvníkům.
