Digitalisaon? How Do These Contribute to the
Eciency, Safety, and Comfort of Passengers?
Jsem velmi rád, že součástí českého týmu Siemens
Mobility je vývojové centrum se skoro 150 zaměst-
nanci, kteří se specializují na automatizaci železniční
infrastruktury. Aktuálně řešíme projekty pro Německo,
Rakousko, Švýcarsko, Egypt a především Norsko, kde
se provádí kompletní digitalizace celé železniční sítě
v duchu „jedna země, jedno zabezpečovací zařízení“
s implementací ETCS L2. Náš tým se zabývá kompo-
nenty, jako jsou přejezdy nebo kontroléry přestavníků,
a také kyberbezpečností jako zásadní součástí digi-
talizace. Stojí za platformou CoreShield, která chrání
železniční infrastrukturu jako štít proti kybernetickým
útokům. Digitalizace železnice je klíčová pro budouc-
nost železniční dopravy, aby byla efektivnější a plynu-
lejší, a proto zvládala přepravit více lidí i zboží při stále
co možná nejvyšší bezpečnosti celého systému.
Železnice budoucnosti je chytrá, bezpečná, klade důraz
na komfort cestujících a dostupnost služby. Ve Škodě
vyvíjíme moderní technologie, které chrání cestující i vo-
zidla, hlídají perimetr souprav a pomáhají snižovat škody
plánování a řízení dopravy včetně energo managementu
a využití hybridních vozidel.
I am very pleased that part of the Czech Siemens
Mobility team is a development centre with nearly
150 employees specialising in railway infrastructure
automation. Currently, we are handling projects for
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Egypt, and notably
Norway, where they are undertaking a complete
digitalisation of the entire railway network following
the concept of „one country, one signalling system“
with the implementation of ETCS Level 2.
Our team focuses on components such as level crossings
and point controllers, as well as cybersecurity, a crucial
part of digitalisation. We are behind the CoreShield
platform, which protects railway infrastructure, serving
as a shield against cyberattacks. Digitalising the railway
system is essential for the future of rail transport,
making it more efficient and smoother, enabling it to
carry more passengers and freight while ensuring the
highest possible safety standards throughout the entire
system.
The railway of the future is intelligent and safe, placing
significant emphasis on passenger comfort and
service accessibility. At Škoda, we develop advanced
technologies designed to protect passengers and
vehicles, monitor the perimeter of trains, and help
reduce damages caused by vandalism, such as graffiti, or
provide video transmission in the event of an accident.
Internationally, we are implementing a technology
that monitors the coupling area of trains, responding
to hazardous trends like train surfing—ensuring that
the vehicle does not start under unsafe conditions.
Additionally, we are developing predictive models
for transportation infrastructure, covering everything
from vehicles to tracks, overhead lines, and streets.
These models process operational and diagnostic
data to improve transport planning and management,
including energy management and the optimal use of
hybrid vehicles.
