Kromě sociálních sítí se turisté se světovými místy v regionu seznámí i na webové prezentaci www.mamesvetovykraj.cz. www.msk.cz MÁME SVĚTOVÝ KRAJ Social Network Campaign Kicks Off Tourism in the Region We Have a World-Famous Region (Máme světový kraj, #MameSvetovyKraj) is an online campaign introducing globally interesting sights and inviting visitors to the region. The campaign includes a social network challenge, as initiated by Ivo Vondrák, Governor of the MoravianSilesian Region, on his Facebook account and followed by other significant personalities of the region. Hopefully, more posts will come from tourists and globetrotters who have already learnt how much our region has to offer. The principal idea of the campaign, marked by the hashtag #MameSvetovyKraj, is to introduce those locations in the Moravian-Silesian Region, which stand successfully in competition with global attractions, to potential visitors. Most of the promoted attractions in the region actually resemble world-famous sights, or connect to extraordinary stories and inspiring personalities. Outside of social networks, tourists and travellers may check out the worldworthy attractions of our region at www.mamesvetovykraj.cz. Ostrava Návštevníci Muzea Šipka se vrátí do pravěku Ve Štramberku vzniklo nové Muzeum Šipka. Milovníci pravěku a archeologie ho najdou poblíž náměstí, kde dříve fungovalo městské infocentrum. Na tyto práce přispěl Moravskoslezský kraj 4,6 milionu korun, zbytek hradilo ze svého rozpočtu Muzeum Novojičínska. www.msk.cz Visitors to the Šipka Museum Go Back to Prehistory The new Šipka Museum has opened in Štramberk. Enthusiasts of prehistory and archaeology will find it near the square where the City Infocentre used to be. The Šipka Museum is a branch of the Museum of the Nový Jičín Region, a public-benefit organization of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The new exposition is dedicated to the findings from Kotouč Hill and Šipka Cave. This location earned its global fame through a find of a Neanderthal child’s jaw. The original of this precious exhibit was destroyed by fire at the end of WWII, therefore what visitors see now is a precise copy. Display cabinets show a part of the greatest collection of fossils from Štramberk in the Czech Republic. Another fascinating exhibit is a replica of Šipka Cave. The exhibition is interactive, so visitors can hold, weigh, and study all the replicas and fossils. The costs of remodeling the interior and installing the exhibits totalled 6.4 million CZK, financed by EU funding. The museum building was renovated in 2015-2017 with an investment of nearly 7.5 million CZK, 4.6 million of which was paid by the Government of the Moravian-Silesian Region, the rest from the budget of the Museum of the Nový Jičín Region.
