Tourism in the Region Is Promoted

Attractions and Personalities

The first year of the Tourism of Moravian-Silesian Region Awards introduced the winners.

The official ceremony took place at the Karolina Triple Hall on Friday, Feb. 28th, 2020. Tourist

attractions and personalities operating in tourism competed in five categories. What are the results

of the competition and who was awarded?

Experts in tourism chose the Personality and

Event of the year. The Personality of the Year

is Lumír Plac, CEO at the Landek Park Mining

Museum. The Event of the Year is the Stezka

Valaška / Wallachian Treetop Walkway at

Pustevny. The other three categories came

out from a public poll where the pilgrimage

site at the Cvilín Hill in Krnov was awarded

the Most Romantic Place, the Kopřivná

Resort in Malá Morávka was awarded the

Most Beloved Destination for Families with

Children, and the Lower Area of Vítkovice

the Most Popular Attraction in the MoravianSilesian Region in 2019.

more subjects operating in tourism to make

for the development of tourism, therefore

an on-line campaign, #MameSvetovyKraj

(world-famous region), was initiated

to support tourism in the region, promoted

by a challenge on social networks. Important

personalities of the region and all tourists

may contribute with their ideas of what the

region offers.

The principal idea of the campaign is

to introduce places of interest in the

Moravian-Silesian Region, which may easily

compete with great attractions of global

reputation, and may bring more visitors to

our region. Most of the promoted locations

relate to such world-famous places by

similar looks but also through extraordinary

stories and inspiring personalities.
