REGION

such as the new Senior Home/Domov Hulváky or the

renovated Senior Home/Domov Korýtko. Nowadays, an

extension to the recently finished facility of the Senior

Home/Domov Slunovrat is being built, and an extension

to the Senior Home/Domov pro seniory Iris has recently

been completed.

As for the structure of senior social care, Ostrava covers

the full spectrum, residential as well as attendance

services included. We systematically keep improving the

quality of the services we provide so that the range and

quality of all social services (not only those dedicated to

seniors) are at a high level in the long run.

Where have you spent the difficult times, what is your

support, and how do you relax?

Briefly, I could say that rationally and with empathy,

I hope. The times we have been through have demanded

us to function above our own official duties, to make

brave, quick decisions, and to accept the risks of all the

consequences. My professional life (fortunately, as I feel

it now) had already taught me to solve critical situations

not described in any methodology and impossible

to foresee. This experience taught me not to give in to

the pressure or extreme emotions, but rather to search

for logical solutions while remembering my responsibility

for the vulnerable, such as children, the sick, seniors, and

first responders, meaning the teams of Crisis Intervention,

doctors, nurses, medics, etc.

What are the resources of my energy? I draw it from

knowing that life is an undeserved gift and we must

share. My best relaxation is knowing that my work is

meaningful, that I can rely on the people near to me, and

that together we are the team where homo homini deus

est. I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate

in helping those in need and improving their quality of life.

It is a way to pay back in my life what I have been gifted.

Thank you for the interview.
