The Píšť Multi-purpose Information and Cultural Centre The Píšť Multi-purpose Information and Cultural Centre has won the thirteenth annual MoravianSilesian Region Building Competition, The Grand Prix in Civil Amenity Facilities, in the category New Buildings. The building was entered into the competition by its investor, Píšť municipality. It was designed by knesl kynčl architekti s.r.o. and built by Bystroň Group a.s. The building consists of two parts whose layout forms a new piazzeta public area. The main, partly two-storey section with a saddle-back roof on the north side of the piazetta, where a barn had once existed, contains a cultural hall with technical
rooms and an information centre equipped with a library and a reading room. The cambered hall and library are lighted using two large skylights and, together with the white façade, animated by a geometric play of lighted niches, which has
become a characteristic feature of the building, distinct and recognizable from long distance. The hallway with a snack bar is oriented in the direction opposite the road and includes an external unroofed terrace.
