BUSINESS Car Sharing in Ostrava An expert group in the VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, headed by Petr Šimoník, who deals with Automotive Electronics, is bringing the revolutionary concept of a shared electric vehicle platform, along with the integration of timeless systems for the collection and evaluation of operational data, wireless communication, behavioral analysis and prediction, personal identification and additional data. In 2019, a station to lend vehicles, by means of an app, will open on the university campus. In the first phase, a fleet of several vehicles will be tested by university staff and the second phase will expand to normal public traffic, which is similar to today‘s common sharing of bicycles or electric scooters. „We want to come up with a timeless solution for transporting people in Ostrava while working on an exceptional R&D project,“ Šimoník says.
