Horečky – Pustevny – Rožnov
pod Radhoštěm and Back by Bike
How about a cycling trip in the Beskids? Don’t worry about slopes and distances, just rent an electric
bike at one of the numerous bike rentals in the Moravian-Silesian Region, and set out on a trip!
You can rent a bike at Rekovice restaurant
in Trojanovice and head for Pustevny.
Before starting the trip, you can take the
educational trail Beskydské nebe (Beskid
Heaven) in Horečky which includes
a skywalk over the treetops. Then take
bikeways nos. 6195 and 6194. The route
will take you to bikeway no. 6016 which
leads to Pustevny. On the way to the top
you will pass the Tarzanie Mountain Rope
Park, where you can enjoy a few rope trails.
The attractions of Pustevny include amazing
buildings by architect Dušan Jurkovič and
the brand new Stezka Valaška (Wallachian
Skywalk) with probably the longest lookout
glass skywalk in Europe. Don’t miss the
opportunity to climb the mysterious peak of
Radhošť mountain where there is a bronze
statue and the Saints Cyril and Methodius
Chapel . You will undoubtedly enjoy a stop
at the legendary statue of Radegast.
Going back from Pustevny, take bikeway
no. 46 past Chalet Mír (“Peace”) to Rožnov
pod Radhoštěm and then follow bikeways
nos. 6249 and 6016 past the Velký Javorník
mountain (if you have the time, take the
trail to the mountain top and enjoy the
fascinating view from the lookout tower),
and back to Horečky to return the bike.
