BUSINESS ROZHOVOR

the question: To stay with the original

technology or introduce new and more

demanding CNC machines? Some of

the co-workers did not support me with

this decision, so in the end, I made the

decision on my own. Within a week,

the new machines were in the plant.

Afterwards, everyone accepted that it

was the only way to go, even if they had

to adapt and learn new things. Today our

company has only one of these “classic”

machines, otherwise the rest are CNC

machines. In our company, we have highly

In the future, we hope to do this

negotiating to supply a laser-style burning

machine and a CNC bending press.

qualified and knowledgeable employees

and I am proud of them.

What can you tell us about your role

as the chairman of the District of

the Commerce and the activities involved?

I thank you for asking this question.

We were considering whether or not

to terminate the Chamber altogether.

There were thirteen of us who started to

reactivate it, and now there are fifty-three

of us. As far as our goals were concerned,

we wanted to enhance the cooperation

between companies and secondary

schools. Without the schools, companies

will not have enough promising new

workers. We now have five schools that

we cooperate with and they are now

direct members of the Chamber. We have

developed a well-known educational

map, which is available in the Czech

What are your strategies for the future?

Do you have plans to broaden your

business contacts?

While we currently do not feel the need to

actively seek out more business contacts, I do

not expect that it will stay that way, however,

it is at this moment that I am not looking.

What about new improvements in

the company outside of those within

the core production process?

We plan to introduce photovoltaics and

we also plan to invest in the technology

for the operating areas. For example,

with firing, locksmithing and lasers.

What is your perception of the current

trends in your sector?

A current trend that we are questioning

and concerned with is the digitalisation

of the company. One positive thing about

the engineering sector is that it is a field

that will never disappear and will always

be needed.

Republic and Poland. There was also

the idea of a company school, where

secondary school pupils would choose

a company where they would like to

work after graduation and they would

go there for internships or temporary

jobs while the company would financially

contribute a thousand crowns a month.

Unfortunately, the students today were

either not interested, they refused to

join the company, or they went to study

at University instead. Therefore, what

seemed as a good idea failed, with

the exception of two students. In regards

to our other activities, we offer business

breakfasts. During those activities, we

discuss HR, training, corporate PR, cyber

security issues etc. with our members.

These business breakfasts have a lot of

interest and have become very popular,

providing companies with the opportunity

to educate their employees for free during

business hours.

Does your work in the Chamber also

reflect in the work of your company?

Yes, It certainly does. Our main customer

is from Germany, so our employees have

to pay the utmost attention to the quality

and detail of everything we produce,

while at the same time improving their
