The Success of IDEA FORUM 2023
The rst ever IDEA Forum conference became an important event for companies and
entrepreneurs in the Moravian-Silesian region, at which they discussed current topics within
business and economic development. More specically, debates were focused on cost saving
measures in companies, regional development, investment into human capital and making use of
new technologies such as arcial intelligence.
V závěrečné části konference byly před-
staveny prezentace jednotlivých společ-
ností – Hyundai, Kovona System a Siemens
– a jejich konkrétní příklady úspor. Společ-
nost Hyundai například představila pro-
gram pro zlepšování návrhů zaměstnanců
a také tým CFT zaměřený na úspory ener-
gie a snižování emisí CO
2
. ,,Zásadní je, aby
zaměstnanci vnímali, že jejich nápady jsou
vítány a mají reálný dopad,” komentuje za
společnost Hyundai vedoucí administrativ-
ní subdivize Petr Michník. Kovona System
se zaměřila na práci se zaměstnanci, efek-
tivní investice do vzdělávání a celkovou
flexibilitu společnosti, včetně jejich komu-
nikace: ,,Software a další nástroje jsou dru-
hořadé. Nejprve je nutné rozhodnutí, že
digitalizaci a automatizaci myslíte vážně.
Následně je potřeba zajistit sběr dat, inves-
tovat čas a finance do aktivace projektu,”
zaznělo z úst Radomíra Mikoláše, vedoucí-
ho personálního oddělení.
Společnost Siemens předvedla účastní-
kům konference, jak lze využít inovace
a digitalizaci k propojení reálného světa
s digitálním prostředím.

The two main speakers at the event,
Ivo Vondrák and Petr Janský, talked
about the development potential of
the Moravian-Silesian region and the state
of specific macroeconomic indicators in
the context of current global events. They
put special emphasis on public finances,
low unemployment rates and the decline
in real wages. They also mentioned
the recently presented savings package
and opened a discussion on property tax.
The panel discussion at the conference
brought together multiple important
Czech figures from various fields. Chief
economist for Generali CEE Holding and
former Governor of the Czech National
Bank, Miroslav Singer, CEO and major
shareholder of Kofola, Jannis Samaras,
entrepreneur and patron of the arts, Jan
Světlík, as well as former Governor of
the Moravian-Silesian region Ivo Vondrák
were all part of the panel. The discussion
revolved around the current economic
situation and an evaluation of the last
three years which were heavily affected by
the covid pandemic and war in Ukraine,
leading to the stunted economic growth
of companies. Other discussion topics
included digitalisation, artificial intelligence
and related processes within companies,
cost saving measures and the future
in general. The panel was directed by
the conference’s moderator, Jakub Železný.
Jan Světlík opened a gripping conversation
about the usage of hydrogen, where he
expressed concerns similar to the ones
he brought up in the discussion on
artificial intelligence, suggesting that
Europe has fallen behind Asian countries
such as Japan.
The final block of the conference consisted
of presentations from Hyundai, Kovona
System and Siemens, where they introduced
specific cost saving measures that worked
for them. Hyundai, for example, introduced
their employee suggestion system and
CFT team, which is focused on maximizing
energy savings and lowering CO
2
emissions.
“Making sure employees know that their
ideas are welcomed and end up having a real
impact is important,” Petr Michlík, leader
of Hyundai’s administrative subdivision,
commented on behalf of the company.
Kovona System focused on working with
employees, effective investment into
education and the overall flexibility of
a company, including communication.
“The decision to take digitalisation and
automation seriously comes first. This
then needs to be followed by information
gathering and the investment of time and
money to realize the project. Software and
other tools come later,” Radomír Mikoláš,
director of the Personnel Department, said.
Finally, Siemens presented the attendees
with ways in which innovation and
digitalisation can be used to connect
the real world with a digital ecosystem.
