The Graceful Merger of a Doctor’s Aesthec Surgery Pracse and a Career in Modern Pop Music
Jana, not only are you a successful
doctor, but a singer as well. How do
you balance these two demanding
careers, and what are some of the main
challenges of this kind of “double life?”
I always believed that collagen is a triple
helix. Music and aesthetic medicine were
always interlinked throughout my life,
whether it be during my studies, or later on
in work life. This connection manifested
mainly through artistic activity. To me,
as an aesthetic doctor mainly focused on
the face, its shapes, wrinkles and the aging
processes, understanding the client
is a form of art. I need to determine
the degree of correction the client
requires and then make sure the result
ends up looking natural, so the procedure
is more than just “beautification.” Each
individual person is a work of art, and
it is my job to help develop this work
according to the clients desires.
Writing lyrics, recording songs and
performing are all central parts to my career
in music. Following the release of this
year’s record “#9,” we performed many
concerts, including one as the opening
act for the one and only Mirai in Slovakia.
We debuted the album twice, once in
Ostrava, and another time in Prague.
We were then also invited as guests
to the sold out concert of the band Botox
in Lucerna. I will also never forget when
we won first place in the “Discovery
of the year 2024” category at the “REC.
stage” competition, where a professional
jury, made up of Mirai Navrátil and
the Colours of Ostrava production crew,
decided to award this title to us among
the 500 or so contestants. Thanks to
this recognition, we had the opportunity
to headline multiple larger festivals. When
all of this was happening I was extremely
busy and often had to put my personal life
to the side, however, things are calming
down now and I can finally fit in some time
to relax as well.
Your clinic, BESTĒE, is very successful.
What do you believe are key factors that
aided in its success?
I think that providing a high quality service,
while maintaining a human approach
to the clients are both key factors.
The clinic and its individual doctors
maintain an open relationship with our
clients, as we communicate with them
openly and give them space to voice their
expectations, ideas and apprehensions
about the results. Our clients have a wide
spectrum of options and we try to provide
them with guidance that will end up
benefiting them the most. If complications
appear, we are willing and capable
of dealing with them. The procedures we
conduct at the BESTĒE clinic in Ostrava
are always up to date on the newest trends
in modern medicine. We are constantly
educating ourselves and remain active
on social media so that we can maintain
a close connection to our clients. It is not
only about selling the procedures, but
also about providing interesting notes and
education about those said procedures
through the profiles of our doctors.
We aim to break down the negative
connotation of procedures such as botox
or plastic surgery through education and
showcasing successful treatment plans
and satisfied customers.
I always tell my clients: “ Choose a doctor
you trust,” and my goal is to be that
doctor for them. When the doctor and
the client are on the same wavelength,
then the rejuvenating and altering
procedures are a lot more likely to lead to
a satisfying result. Furthermore, our clinic
offers the widest selection of non-invasive
rejuvenation treatments and modern
procedures in Ostrava. Our roster includes
liquid lifting, smoothing of wrinkles and
polycaprolactone or polylactic acid
biostimulation among many others..
All of our plastic surgeons are
microsurgeons, which means that
the invasive procedures we offer are
done with extreme precision in suturing.
This allows for essentially invisible scars
after eyelid operations or facelifts done
with local anaesthetics. We always try
to provide something extra with each
procedure. Everything we do now is more
modern, recovery is easier, and if our
client is anxious about the procedure,
we can also provide a higher dose
of premedication.
Aesthetic medicine is still a relatively
young field in Czechia. What trends
and innovations are you noticing in
this specialisation and how are you
preparing for them?
Innovations are par for the course when
it comes to new fields. Methods used
2-3 years ago may now be considered
outdated. We can take the changes in
procedures done to the nasolabial fold as an
example. At first, the standard procedure
involving this part of the face involved
the injection of hyaluronic acid and this led
to a side effect called “bulldog face,” which
essentially consisted of unwanted volume
build-up in the area. Today, nasolabial
procedures are done by moving fat pads in
the temporal area upwards, injecting them
with hyaluronic acid and then treating
the affected skin with polycaprolactone.
Aesthec medicine and
music – two completely
dierent worlds that
harmoniously intertwine
in Jana's life. As a doctor
and successful singer, she
eortlessly balances these
demanding professions. In
the interview, she shares
her perspecve on beauty,
innovaons in medicine,
and her music career,
revealing how these two
paths inuence her life
and professional growth.
