It Takes Courage

The Café
SLADKÉ TAJEMSTVÍ
is my Dream
Come True.
Mrs. Svěntková, what was your initial
motivation to open your own café?
What inspired you to turn SLADKÉ
TAJEMSTVÍ into a reality?
For the past 14 years, I’ve been baking
Christmas cookies for customers who
come back to me every year, asking for
something delicious for the holidays.
They always asked, “Do you bake
throughout the year? Why don’t you
bake all year long? We’d love something
for a celebration, maybe a cake or
a dessert.” That was the initial push

be to have a beautiful space where
we could meet not only at Christmas
but throughout the year. But where to

the plans on paper, with visual designs,
the layout of the retail spaces, new
greenery, and a large parking lot.
Weren’t you worried at the start?
Did you believe the location would
be appealing, and that people would
love the café being nearby?
Actually, I wasn’t worried at all. I believed
it would be a new spot in a new shopping
center with plenty of parking, which is very
important to everyone these days. People
can park their cars and even see them from
