The TMR company has been active in the
field of tourism for a while now. What led
you to enter the golf market?
Entering the golfing arena had multiple
reasons. First of all, it expands the portfolio
of our company, which already ran ski
resorts, aqua parks, amusement parks,
hotels and restaurants. Golf also filled in
an activity for the colder seasons. Finally,
the fact that golf has a lot of potential
for expansion in the Czech and Slovak
Republics definitely played a role.
What is the long term strategy for TMR?
Our goal is to create a golf network across
the entirety of both the Czech and Slovak
Republics so that we have a golf course
available in every region, along with
a cross-section of all kinds of these facilities.
Our target status includes fifteen to twenty
resorts. We are constantly communicating
with other resorts and offer their owners
what are, I believe, great conditions for
long-term rent (twenty years and more). It is
an opportunity for them to obtain a stable
income while relieving themselves of the
worries included in running the resort.
TMR runs the MICE and GoPass programs.
How do they work and what are they for?
Yes, GoPass is probably the largest
program across all TMR operations. It is
focused on individual clients and, simply
said, it is a customer program that includes
a personal e-shop. The program’s main
advantage is that customers can use its
benefits at our golf and ski resorts, aqua
parks, hotels and even restaurants. This is also
valid across all the countries TMR operates
in (Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Poland,
Of course, we also dedicate a lot of time
to the MICE program, as well.Services are
very important to us, especially because
TMR runs sixteen hotels and facilitates many
company events (seminars, congresses,
training, team building, parties, etc.). Thanks
to our large portfolio of hotels in many
different areas, we can always find the ideal
solution for each client, whether it regards
the location or room size or hotel type. We
can also offer very favorable conditions
at the golf resorts (Ostravice, Olomouc,
Kaskáda) during the off-season.
What does this mean for the players and
what benefits does it offer?
For the players, this mainly means that
they will have the opportunity to play
on a larger variety of courses. Our basic
philosophy includes no limits when it comes
to course choice. Therefore, if a player has
a limited amount of entries as part of our
membership or “GolfSezónka,” they can
use these entries at any of the TMR golf
resorts at any time in any order. Each game
can be played at a different course. There
is also a new membership level in all of our
clubs that allows players to play an unlimited
number of games at any of our courses
throughout the entire season.
Of course, further benefits await players
with GoPasses in Olomouc, including
a discount at the restaurant.
How does the Ostravice golf resort take
care of beginners?
I think that most golf players would tell
you that Ostravice is not a course for
beginners. This, however, only encourages
us to develop programs for beginners and
put our large training area to good use.
Excluding standard training courses, we
also offer group lessons for families and
also have specials courses for locals every
Sunday, and a symbolic 50CZK entrance
fee every Monday.
Thank you for the interview.
The partnership with the golf course in
Olomouc began at the end of last year.
