Mr Jenčo, as an introduction, will you summarize the story
of HUTNÍ PROJEKT Frýdek-Místek?
HUTNÍ PROJEKT (Smelter Projects) is an enterprise with
a great history which dates back to the 1950s. In the 1990s,
the state-governed company was privatised and later on
transformed into a joint stock company, currently owned
exclusively by Czech subjects.
In the long term, the company specializes in coke-production
industries. From 2010, however, we have been extending
our portfolio with projects for chemical industries, power
production, mechanical engineering, the ecologisation of
smelting plants as well as community and commercial facilities.
We also operate abroad where we nearly exclusively
specialize in our major fi eld, i.e. coke production. 2005 was
a very important year for our enterprise because then we
started the operation of HUTNÍ PROJEKT Frýdek-Místek
in India. This market is highly signifi cant, and we run
a successful branch in Calcutta.
What exactly is the company’s portfolio? What services
and products do you provide?
To be brutally brief, I could say we are an engineering
supplier with a strong design and planning department.
We produce all types of plans, we own a unique know-
how in coke production batteries and chemistry for
coke-production. Nowadays we make projects and
do construction jobs as an EPC contractor in other
industries too, mainly in mechanical engineering, power
production, and chemical industries. In foreign countries,
we primarily work as the know-how bearer in coke-
production technologies, and also as an EPC contractor.
A less known fact is that we have a branch in Uherské
Hradiště specialising in construction plans, pool
technologies, and water parks. When you come across
a stainless-steel pool, it was most probably made in
cooperation with HUTNÍ PROJEKT Frýdek-Místek,
Division Uherské Hradiště.
