Students in schools accredited by the International
Baccalaureate (IB) programme have a huge advantage
over other students. From the beginning of their
studies, they receive a unique education. The IB DP
programme, which is taught in English, forces students
to think critically and solve complex problems, to
manage their own learning. A graduate of this program
is able to deal with people without difficulty in an
increasingly globalized and rapidly changing world.
Students of the IB programme systematically develop
deep academic knowledge, social and emotional skills
through its parts. The programme opens the door
to students to the most important universities in the
world.
Great demands are placed on a school accredited by the
International Baccalaureate. The school must prove that its
curriculum meets the standards of the IB programme, that
it has a well-equipped library not only with physical but also
electronic resources, sophisticated laboratories reflecting
the requirements of today. Teachers are expected to have
high expertise not only in the subject they teach, but also
pedagogical expertise. The school must regularly invest in
further pedagogical development abroad. The teacher is
a key element of the programme. They are an empathetic
and erudite guide to the student in this challenging process,
which creates opportunities for the student to understand
lifelong learning and the service of society as his or her
mission on Earth.
