Tradičně velkolepou hudební přehlídku na-
bídne ve dnech 3.–28. září 2021 již 18. roč-
ník Svatováclavského hudebního festivalu.
Náš největší mezinárodní festival duchovní
a tzv. staré hudby opět rozezní kostely ce-
lého Moravskoslezského kraje díky obdivu-
hodným 31 koncertům. Jedním z mnoha
letošních zahraničních hostů bude vystou-
pení belgického dechového souboru Terra
Nova Collective (hrající na historické ná-
stroje) s uměleckým vedoucím a virtuóz-
ním klarinetistou Vladem Weverberghem.
Třináct špičkových hudebníků s meziná-
rodním renomé se představí v úterý 21.
září 2021 v 18 hod. v unikátním šikmém
kostele sv. Petra z Alkantary v Karviné,
v němž budou rekonstruovat historickou
hudbu zcela neznámého belgického skla-
datele Amanda Vanderhagena. Výzkum
ukazuje, že Vanderhagen byl během fran-
couzské revoluce klíčovou postavou pa-
řížského hudebního života. Jeho skladby
jsou výjimečné kvality a představují pozd-
ní klasicismus.
V druhé části koncertu zazní geniální
hudba Wolfganga Amadea Mozarta, je-
hož monumentální skladbu „Gran Parti-
ta“ pro 13 dechových nástrojů si budete
moci vyslechnout v tzv. poučené inter-
pretaci na historické dechové nástroje.
U příležitosti tohoto nevšedního hudeb-
ního zážitku po koncertu proběhne bese-
da s autorkou románů Šikmý kostel Karin
Lednickou.

The eighteenth year of the St. Wenceslas
Music Festival maintains its grand tradition
of spectacular musical offerings, from
3–28 September 2021. Our largest
international festival of sacred and early
music will once again sound in churches
across the Moravian-Silesian Region this
year with a total of thirty-one concerts.
One of this year’s many international
guests will be the Belgian wind ensemble
Terra Nova Collective (performing on
historical instruments) with artistic director
and virtuoso clarinettist Vlad Weverbergh.
Thirteen top musicians of international
acclaim will perform on Tuesday, 21
September 2021, at 6pm, in the unique,
leaning church of Saint Peter of Alcantara
in Karviná, reviving historical music of the
completely unknown Belgian composer
Amand Vanderhagen. Research shows that
Vanderhagen was a key figure in Parisian
musical life during the French Revolution.
His compositions are of exceptional quality
and represent late classicism.
The second part of the concert will feature
the brilliant music of Wolfgang Amadeus
Mozart, whose monumental composition
‚Gran Partita‘ for thirteen wind instruments
the audience will be able to listen to in
an ‚historically informed‘ performance
on historical wind instruments. On the
occasion of this extraordinary musical
experience, there will be a post-concert
discussion with the author of the novels The
Leaning Church I and II, Karin Lednická.
