REGION

A Place

for Knowledge,

Well-being

and Relaxation

The history of the aristocratic residence

in Paskov dating from the 14th century.

It acquired its current form mainly in

the second half of the 19th and at the

beginning of the 20th century.

Since 2014, when the castle complex and

the adjacent park became city property, it

has been used for exhibitions of painters,

graphic artists and photographers, as well

as for a place of cultural and other social

events. These include Dny regionů (Days

of the Regions), Pohádkový zámek (the

Fairytale Castle), the Children‘s Folklore

Festival and the Paskovská devítka (CrossCountry Race). From the permanent

exhibitions, a unique set of twenty-seven

models of wooden churches, chapels

and bell towers of the Těšín and northeastern Moravia regions and a gallery

of twenty-one plastic coats of arms of

Paskov holders will be interesting. The

group of five statues reminiscent of Greek

mythological motifs in the castle park

is also exceptional, in which centuriesold trees provide shade and a romantic

atmosphere.
