Časopis, který nekončí
poslední stránkou
Když jsme v roce 2018 vydali první POSITIV Business
& Style, asi jsme netušili, kam až nás tahle cesta zave-
de.
jinak.
tempo. Čtenář ho vezme do ruky, listuje stránkami, vra-
náře, fotografie, video a stále výraznější podcastová
tvorba.
Možná to zní v době sociálních sítí a nekonečného
množství online obsahu trochu staromódně: vydávat
časopis. Jenže právě množství informací kolem nás
podle mě zvyšuje hodnotu dobře připraveného média.
Někdo musí informace vybrat, dát jim kontext, najít za-
jímavé lidi, položit správné otázky a všechno poskládat
tak, aby to dávalo smysl.
Je to práce redakce. A pořád nás baví.
A Magazine That Goes
Beyond the Last Page
When we published the first issue of POSITIV
Business & Style in 2018, we probably had no idea
just how far this journey would take us. But we did
know that we wanted to create a magazine a little
differently. To make it modern, with perspective and,
above all, to ensure that it was not simply a showcase
of companies, personalities and beautiful photographs,
but a publication with its own point of view, atmosphere
and a reason to pick it up and read it.
Today, several years later, I see POSITIV as much more
than a print magazine.
The printed magazine remains important to us. It has
something that the digital world cannot quite replace
– its own pace. Readers can hold it in their hands, leaf
through the pages and return to the articles that caught
their attention. It provides a physical space for stories,
photographs, interviews and inspiration.
But POSITIV does not end with the last page.
Today, every issue is supported by our website, news
for our readers, photography, video and an ever–
growing range of podcasts.
From the Moravian–Silesian Region, we have moved
on to topics with a European reach, with our issues
travelling as far afield as Taiwan. It is rewarding
to discover that the stories of people, companies
and regions that we find interesting are equally thought–
provoking for readers thousands of kilometres away.
In an age of social media and an endless stream
of online content, publishing a magazine may sound
a little old–fashioned. Yet I believe that the sheer
volume of information surrounding us actually increases
the value of a well–curated publication. Someone
has to select the information, put it into context, find
interesting people, ask the right questions and bring
everything together in a way that makes sense.
That is the work of an editorial team who still enjoys
doing it.
