REGION New Ways of the Traditional New ways of the traditional, the motto of Rekovice, reflects upon the principal idea of the renewal of the glorious age of the “First Republic” (between the World Wars) in the area of Horečky. In April 2013, the Council of Trojanovice was considering the purchase of the restaurant Rekovice with adjacent real estate, and the issue was not easy to decide: the investment in a deteriorated building in an area which was far from being a famous tourist attraction represented a challenging proposition. However, where there is a will, there is a way. Currently the Restaurant and Forest Hotel Rekovice is a perfect base for those planning to set out for a trip to the Velký Javorník, to follow a hiking trail, to play golf, etc. The renewed restaurant houses wedding receptions, weekend stays, and is the representative hall of the village. It holds a good rating in the gastromap of Lukáš Hejlík and in Amazing Places, a list of places of interest in the Czech Republic. You can admire its unique architecture (by Kamil Mrva) corresponding with the hilly surroundings. With the glass panels of the building opening to views of stunning natural beauty, you can see the “Guardian of the Beskids” bell tower (Strážkyně Beskyd), from which you are granted stunning views of the mountains and a very unorthodox bench. Nearby ski-jump towers, a natural amphitheater, and a treetop walkway make it a perfect destination for the whole family. Text: Mgr.
