An Entrepreneur Needs to Work with Smart Ideas Ing. Miloslav Cváček, Ph.D., is the sole owner & managing director of ISMM Group. In 2019 he was shortlisted as Manager of the Year 2018. His professional achievements include the positions of CEO at marketing at TATRA a.s. (car production, 1992-1993) and Marketing Manager at ROMO a.s. (1994-1996). In 1997 he started his own business as an advisor in marketing and management. He gradually developed his enterprise from export marketing to machinery production. As he often says, smiling, “March 14th, 2007 was the day when my life changed completely. I bought the first production facility in Jistebník in the district of Nový Jičín, followed by the purchase of three welders, a saw, and a drill, and I contracted the first five employees.” Mr Cváček, you started your career as a marketing specialist with machinery producers. How did the story become the history of a pro-export company with over 300 employees? Looking back, I have to admit that I am surprised at my own achievements. I definitely did not start with a revolutionary idea; I simply had a very good relation to marketing and international trade, as is clearly demonstrated throughout all my professional life. I have gradually grown from a mere marketing specialist to a trader in machinery products in the EU, and further to the present function of the owner of a great company supplying major producers of agricultural and manipulation machinery in the world with about 14 ǀ POSITIV 3/2019
5,000 types of cooperative products, exporting to ten EU countries. I run a very modern engineering company with four production plants which bravely withstands competition with similar international enterprise. We have become a significant supplier to top ten producers of agricultural machinery in the world. Soon the “core business” grew larger with company ISMM & EGAS producing components for rail vehicle technologies, the Hotel Gong in Štramberk, and ISMM & TESO company too, which produces flights of stairs, the most famous being the central stairway in the shopping mall New Karolína (OC Nová Karolína). This development is a reflection of my perception of business opportunities, skills in creating, and vision to produce new values.
