REGION
Autumn at Ostrava’s Černá Louka
After its summer convalescence, Černá Louka is once again coming to life.
The 8th annual “Zdraví & Duše” (Health
& Soul) festival will take place in the
newly renovated entrance hall of Pavilion
A towards the end of September. It will
offer over 100 exhibitors, domestic
and foreign, along with a rich program
consisting of sixty speakers who will
host workshops and discussion segments
covering the topics of feng-shui,
alternative medicine, a healthy lifestyle
and esoterics. A Mini yoga festival will
take place over the weekend, overseen
by Monika Winkler. You also should not
miss Reverend Estel Palaris Orbito and
her knowledge of Philipino medicine;
famous astrologist Milan Gelnar; art
therapist Greta Sartori, or Slovakian
guests Ivan Čaj, from Ekosfera, and Miro
Fišla, who will introduce the unique
Pokorka resonance machine, which
cleans all the energy within an area. All
the information you need can be found
at www.zdravi-duse.cz.
The “Život bez bariér” (Barrier-Free Life)
festival, not only those with disabilities,
will take place a week later, October 4th6th, part of which will be the 5th annual
celiac gathering. The festival will provide
a great amount of information that may
be interesting to people that are either
disabled, physically impaired, seniors,
or affected by celiac disease, obesity or
diabetes, which have all become common
diagnoses nowadays. We will also have
the honor of personally introducing the
face of the festival, Martin Zach, Man
of the Year 2009, athlete, and life-long
optimist. More information at www.
zivotbezbarierostrava.cz.
November will carry the “Kreativ Podzim”
(Creative - Autumn) exhibition, where
visitors have the chance to see and
purchase various tools and products that
help develop creativity from over 160
different vendors. Over the weekend of
November 15th-17th, visitors can also
be excited for seminars, workshops, and
a competition with Quilt. More information
at www.kreativostrava.cz. During the
last week of November, and the first
weekend of Advent, you will also have the
opportunity to purchase many beautiful
Christmas presents at “Předvánoční
Esoterika” (Esotericism before Christmas).
The year will then be closed out by
the Moraviansilesian Highschool fair
“Středoškolák, Vysokoškolák” (Student),
as well as the job fair “PROJOB,” which
will take place over the 6th and 7th
of December.
