The peak of Beskyd architecture

The GRAND PRIX prize for the “Building of the Moravian-Silesian Region” was won by a construction

that also won in the category of “Construction of Civic Amenities,” and that is the upper station of

the funicular at Pustevny.

Applicants from the Kamil Mrva

Architects Atelier describe the building

as such: “An open concept restaurant with

a panoramic view of the surroundings

was designed here. A contemporary

approach to architecture is based on

local traditions and materials--- wood

and stone.”

Thanks to the large windows, tourists

that visit the bistro are offered a beautiful

view of the Beskyds, the valley of

Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, the peak of

Javorník mountain and the Radhošť

crest. In the summer, visitors can also

enjoy sittings outdoors on the terrace.

The designer of this award-winning

construction was Kamil Mrva Architects

s.r.o., the contractor was Stavby Šimek

and the investor was Pustevny s.r.o. The

award was accepted by representatives

from the Kamil Mrva Architects atelier

and the village mayor of Trojanovice,

Mr. Mgr. Jiří Novotný.
