Beer and Music Spa Oderberg
Art Nouveau historic building of the past “Národ-
ní dům” (National House) is nowadays the centre of
relaxation for local citizens as well as visitors to the
town of Bohumín. As CEO of the spa, Mr Martin
Kachel said, “The spa perfectly corresponds with
the philosophy of the building, and connects its
history with our present.” Brick archways of the cellars
provide excellent atmosphere to calm down and find
peace and harmony in the rush of our decade. The spa
in historical basement tops the list of services by the
hotel Pod Zeleným dubem offered upstairs.
Violin player, teacher and manager Martin Kachel
brought his passion for 17th and 18th century classic
music together with soothing baths. Instead of sounds
of traditional relaxation music the clients of the spa
Oderberg listen to compositions by Johann Sebastian
Bach, Antonio Vivaldi and other great composers.
What Is Found in Underground
The spa complex consists of a fine lobby with a recep-
tion desk and changing rooms, InfraSauna and two
rooms with baths. For all the time of their visit, the
clients are accompanied by tones of precisely selected
music by old Masters played by the best musicians
which makes the experience and impression even
stronger, pushing the daily worries aside. And the true
top experience? The bath is prepared from a special
blend of malt, water, beer salts, beer oil and frothy
foam of beer, all blended in perfect balance to make
a wonderful, thoroughly enjoyable bath. Even though
the bath does not actually consist of pure beer, visitors
can order a tankard of beer or tap their glasses them-
selves. Non-filtered 12 degrees Plato lager is made
exclusively for the spa and hotel by the minibrewery
Skřečoňský Žabák, the beer brand is Oderberg (German
name of Bohumín). After the bath a client needs some
more time to relax. Here comes another surprise: orig
-
inal couchettes with herbal paillasse straw mattresses
(herbal hay comes from Moravian Podyjí).

The full catalogue of Beer and Music Spa and the
Hotel Pod Zeleným dubem includes services of the
Zamek (Castle) in Chalupki situated near the spa at
the very Czech-Polish State Border. The charms of the
historic building of the Baroque castle and the castle
park, and the stylish cosy interiors are accompanied
by the excellent cuisine and supported by 20 year
experience of the management in the business.
