Why did you decide to invest in this region and what
are the region’s attractions?
CTP company came to the Czech Republic almost 20
years ago and started operation in Humpolec. Then for
-
eign owners of the company discovered the great po-
tential of the Moravian-Silesian Region. Ostrava itself is
the third biggest city in the Czech Republic, it has an in
-
ternational airport, good location. All the agglomeration
has about a million inhabitants which makes the region
and city worthy competitor of the capital Prague which
does not have as much industry while Ostrava and the
Moravian-Silesian Region are well-known for their signif
-
icant industrial history. CTP portfolio consists mostly of
office and industrial buildings, successful construction
and operation construction of which requires well-coor
-
dinated internal teams, good quality and reliable suppli-
ers and partners. Partners including local politicians and
councillors who actively support regional development
and investments in the region; businesses, suppliers
who know their environment, know where to get what,
and capable of understanding and solving any technical
challenge.
Can you summarize motivation of your clients to
start production in our region?
In case of CTPark network, it is a combination of a few
factors: firstly, it is the strategic position near or at a city;
a good quality customized facility that CTP is able to
build quickly. Another key feature is that CTP remains
the owner of the buildings and is responsible for their
maintenance. The investors therefore do not have to
worry about construction of the facility and all necessary
paperwork and permits, about maintenance and admin
-
istration related to the buildings, and can fully focus on
development of their business. Our clients (investors)
choose from a large real-estate catalogue to get the
right place for industrial construction, or from existing
facilities which is very attractive for investors who need
to bring their intentions to life really quickly. As for the
prices and expenditures in the Czech Republic, they are
still more favourable than in West Europe so a German
or Italian company will preferably start a production or
storing facility in the Czech Republic.
Have any of your projects in the region won awards
for architecture?
The office building IQ Ostrava (housing our important
client TIETO) won BREEAM Excellent Certificate in in
-
ternational rating of environment-friendly facilities. This
building also offers interesting design both in the interior
and exterior. There is a restaurant, cafe and fitness cen
-
tre, all of those services open to public as well.
What do you plan for near future?
We have been investing continuously in Ostrava since
2003, this year we celebrate 15th anniversary of our
operation in the city and region. We own and develop
quite a few projects in the Moravian-Silesian Region, e.g.
CTPark Ostrava - Hrabová, custom-built administration
building IQ Ostrava (for our important client Tieto), we
own industrial parks in Nový Jičín, Nošovice, Karviná. In
2018 we intend to build new facilities for existing and
new clients; and to provide for continuous growth of the
company, we are buying more real estate. We are also
busy preparing stage II of the administration facilities of
IQ Ostrava in Náměstí Republiky.
