EDITORIAL Ing. Díky nasazení a propojení s evropskou ekonomikou se nám daří udržet u nás kvalitní technickou pracovní sílu. Firmy z oboru automobilového průmyslu zaměstnávají přibližně 25 % zaměstnanců ze zpracovatelského průmyslu. Díky programu propojování výzkumných a inovačních center se u nás líhnou i kvalitní nápady. Tímto si dovoluji popřát pevné zdraví a štěstí v následujícím roce 2021. Dear Reader, It is the end of the year; for many, it is a time for reflection, and for some it is a time to set new resolutions for the upcoming year. It is much the same for us at the POSITIV Business & Style Magazine editorial board. The third year of a publication filled with interesting events and news not only from the Moravian-Silesian Region is slowly coming to a close, with visions of the fourth year on the horizon. We touched on the public sector, introduced many business and cultural events, and presented current happenings for life in the region. This fully open information and presentation platform was and is a place for people from our region, our country and also abroad to learn more about the MoravianSilesian Region. It is very heartwarming to see that this previously, often forgotten, part of Czechia has managed to become one of the country’s leading innovation hubs, and that this area, which was known for its coal mining operations, has turned into a region booming with greenery. Change in the region’s industry is probably among the most pivotal changes. When I review the data on employment and production, I am confident in writing that we belong among the Czech leaders in industry: this time, the automobile industry. That includes a wide portfolio of final manufacturers, but also automotive suppliers. The automotive industry has an expansive tradition within the Moravian-Silesian Region, but it has never played such a sizable role as now. This means that production, research, development and innovation processes take place hand-in-hand within the region. Innovation holds the key to the future, and the Czech saying, “One who stops for a moment now stands behind the rest,” is therefore especially applicable here. Automotive projects can be found all over the region, and it is not only places with a strong, established tradition, like Kopřivnice and Nošovice, that I am talking about here. Thanks to the deployment of links with the European economy, we are able to preserve a high quality technical workforce. Automotive companies in the region are employing around 25% of employees in the manufacturing industry. Furthermore, thanks to the program that connects research and innovation centers, we are producing new and inventive ideas as well. With that, I would like to wish you good luck and strong health for the upcoming year of 2021. POSITIV 4/2020 ǀ 1
