Cooperation as Groundwork for Success
In 2019, OSTRA GROUP a.s. took over the management of a group of companies around ČSAD Ostrava.
Today it is an umbrella group for thirty-four independently-managed organizations from various fields
of business. The group’s predominant activity is providing services for passenger and cargo transport.
In 2019, Ostra Group a.s. realized
a total turnover of 3.574 billion CZK. More
than two-thirds of the turnover was realised
on the domestic market, the rest abroad.
Compared to 2018, there was an increase
of 11% in received money. Approximately
50% of the turnover is represented by repair
services, fuel sales, and services for bus
and cargo truck transport. 30% consisted
of logistics and transport services.
“We initiated changes in the group’s
organizational
structure
and
the
establishment of the new managing
company, Ostra Group a.s. in 2019.
The main reason was to expand business
activities that the group does today,”
Tomáš Vrátný, chairman of the board
of directors of Ostra Group a.s.,
explained concerning changes to the
group’s management, and added, “In
2019, a decrease in the field of cargo
transport became apparent, but thanks to
the range and quality of our services, we
still managed to increase our turnover.”
In the first half of 2020, the group
reached total sales of 1.798 billion CZK.
522 million CZK from this amount were
sales from abroad, with the best results
being achieved in Slovakia.
“Despite the special measures related
to the outbreak of COVID-19, the
Ostra Group a.s. reached 1.8 billion
CZK sales in the first quarter of 2020, which
is a similar number to the 2019 results.
In the second quarter the sales decreased
by fifteen percent, but thanks to successful
acquisitions, we managed to increase
the turnover of the group,” Vrátný said,
commenting on the development of the
economy.
important part of the group’s activities. The
group extended its portfolio in this business
sector by acquiring eight industrial and
transport premises in Central Bohemia and
Northern Moravia. The current group’s

for cooperation and for a wider service

Ostra Group’s companies today employ
829 people and have gradually extended
their activities across the Czech Republic.
The group’s portfolio mainly includes the
companies Adip, Cubespace, ČSAD

Together with the statutory city of
Ostrava, the Moravian-Silesian region
and the National Sports Agency,
ČSAD Ostrava is preparing the construction
of a new multifunctional sports hall for
3,000 spectators. Education is another
important sector that is supported by the
group. Since September 2020, the group
has supported and collaborated with The
Ostrava International School, which is the
only international school in the Czech
Republic that offers all three International
Baccalaureate educational programmes.
Business Centre Ostrava -- facilities for
business, doctors and sports
The office building towering between
Frýdlantské mosty and the Karolina
Shopping centre provides not only
the administrative facilities for the
Ostra Group a.s. holding company, but
also the premises for many other companies.
The possibilities of these premises are
quite extensive: in addition to standard
and open-plan offices, you can also find
a dentist’s practice or a quite unique space
used by a dance studio here.
In the “E” building, which was intended
as a medical centre, the rental premises
have been renovated to create two dental
practices with the necessary facilities. In
the fourth floor of “E” and “D” buildings,
a major modification has been undertaken.
It was basically a total overhaul through
which two large dance halls, one small
hall, a reception area, dressing rooms,
bathrooms and all the necessary facilities
were created on 550 m2. The eminent
dance school Beatup is now the new
tenant.
