Moravskoslezský automobilový klastr, z.s.

Addressing the editors of POSITIV Magazine

to speak on the topic of the automotive

industry in the MS Region works as

a challenge, and a way to appreciate the

activities of the Automobile Cluster, where

I have been working for over thirteen years.

120 years ago, the first car in our country

was manufactured in Kopřivnice. It was

produced by the Kopřivnice based TATRA,

and it was called the Präsident. Nowadays,

the MS Region is the second-biggest region

in Czechia with a well-functioning automotive

industry. We have a new car manufacturer

and many top-shelf suppliers. I am convinced

that this branch of industry was, is, and always

will be the bearer of technical progress, as it

influences a wide spectrum of other fields,

activities, and even people’s behavior.

The automotive industry is demanding in

every way. It creates demand for a diverse

scope of experts in all categories. It generates

extraordinary opportunities for work in

a supranational environment with the most

modern technologies and progressive

methods. These days make way for new

startups, which come up with fresh and

innovative approaches that are applicable to

new products, processes, and also business

models.

Nonetheless, it is people that are key.

They decide what, when and where things

are possible and where capital should be

invested effectively. That is another reason

our region is globally sought after. In the past

years, investments and work opportunities

in this field have experienced great growth.

We need to stress the importance of

advancement in the fields of research and

development. Technical, developmental

and research centers employ thousands of

people. The lack of professions in this field,

however, is beginning to impede progress.

Value added to work as well as earnings,

which are high above the average not only in

Czechia but also specifically in our region, are

growing demonstrably.

We are witnesses to a drastic increase in the

speed of change, and need to be able to use

everything at our disposal to keep up with

this new pace, mainly in implementing new

discoveries for practical use. This is crucial,

and decides upon the winner! It is about

the transfer of knowledge gained in schools

into applicable abilities. We have high

quality educational facilities - technically

- oriented high schools, a universities. What

is becoming apparent, however, is that these

facilities still have some major differences

among them, and there is still room for

improvement and cooperation. This is the

role we try to play at our Autocluster, which

is among the leaders in the Czech Republic,

but is also involved in cooperation between

the best clusters in the EU.

Having the motivation and desire to do things

better, with commitment, but also at ease and

with a positive attitude towards life is what

led to the development of the automotive

industry in the world, in our country, and our

region. “Where there is a will, there is a way!”
