REGION–KRNOV

Connection of Krnov

and Červený Dvůr

The flourishing of Krnov began thanks to the development

of industrial production during the Industrial Revolution.

Today the city still draws from this bond.

Krnov offers excellent conditions for life. New

inhabitants are mostly attracted by quality public

infrastructure offering schools, hospital, cinema,

theatre, sporting facilities, premium social services and

a wide range of leisure activities for children.

Nowadays, the town‘s economy is widely diversified,

with a number of small and medium-sized businesses,

mainly engineering and food, many of which expanding

worldwide. In the near future, the construction of

the Northeast bypass of the city will be completed,

followed by other structures, thus linking Krnov to

the backbone roads of international importance. The

town‘s strength also lies in a long tradition and a strong

position within the technical secondary education field,

which, in combination with the proximity of universities,

guarantees suffciently skilled workforce.

Červený Dvůr industrial zone with a total area of

48 hectares is located on the Czech-Polish border

2 km southeast of the city centre. In the first stage, several

important companies were interested in the zone – e.g.

the Italian company IVG Colbachini CZ (production of

hoses and closures), the company S.T.I. CZ (production

of machine parts) or RAME CZ (production of parts

for gas boilers). There are many investors attracted to

this area and so the town, with the financial help of the

state, implemented the second stage of the industrial

zone providing altogether 7,5 hectares of free area

intended mainly for sale. The land is fully owned by the

town of Krnov. To be able to invest in this area, one has

to be specialising in the field of manufacturing industry,

strategic services or construction of a technology centre.

The biggest advantages are in particular the excellent

location and suffciently skilled workforce force.
