Like a Phoenix, a New P3 Park Rises

from the Ashes of an Unsightly

Brownfield

The old, inaccessible area will become exactly opposite: the new business park will be

filled with greenery and finally be accessible. People will be able to pass through it, visit

it for shopping and, for some, it might even become a workplace.

Mr. Míček, in what way do you think the new P3 Park

will support the region’s economy?

Our park will not only provide refuge for the growth of

promising regional companies but also become a place

for companies looking to enter the Ostrava market. The

fact that the new industrial business district will provide

many new jobs is also of great interest. Their structure

is perhaps even more substantial than their number. The

park will provide application opportunities for not only

production and logistics operators and their team leaders,

but also for sellers, sales representatives and a plethora

of office professions. Many people will no longer have

to travel large distances to get to their job, saving time,

money and the environment.

Thanks to the park’s location, in the city center, it is

very accessible, which means that it will be of interest

to businesses with higher demands for their employees,

not only in numbers but also in qualification. This should

attract companies with a higher added value, including

R&D, which is also supported by the park’s proximity

to the universities of Ostrava, the ENET Center and the

Center of Advanced Innovative Technologies.

Will the P3 Park make use of any new innovative

technologies or modern solutions that will decrease

its ecological footprint?

One of the major determining factors for this project

is the fact that it concerns the biggest revitalization

attempt of the brownfield, turning it into an industrial

zone. Its ecological affliction has been solved through

a very expensive remediation, financed with public

funds. The recovery of the Agglomeration area in

Ostrava-Vítkovice was based on the removal of certain

structures, terrain adjustment, and the disposal of

contaminated soil and waste. Now the area can be

made more attractive.
