Lenzing Biocel Paskov:
Tradion, Innovaon, Sustainability
A Modern Biorenery
Transforming the Texle Industry
Lenzing Biocel Paskov is one of the most important employers in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
From a tradional pulp mill, we have grown into a modern biorenery producing environmentally
friendly pulp for sustainable bres and acvely supporng the development of the region. Our
work is built on innovaon, responsibility and cooperaon with partners, schools and young talent.
The history of pulp production in Paskov dates
back to 1983. Since then, the plant has undergone
a fundamental transformation. Today we are part
of the Lenzing Group, a global leader in cellulose fibres
for the fashion industry as well as hygiene products.
Fibres marketed under the TENCEL™ and ECOVERO™
brands are a symbol of sustainability – they come
from renewable sources, are biodegradable and kind
to nature.
We are proud to be a stable and reliable employer.
Around 450 people work at our plant, most of them
from the surrounding area. Our production is almost
energy self-sufficient – up to 98% of our energy comes
from our own green sources. Thanks to a closed
production cycle, we minimise waste and rank among
modern plants with a strong focus on sustainability.
Cooperation with Schools: An Investment in the
Future
The Moravian-Silesian Region is our home, and we want
young people to see real prospects here. That is why
we joined the School Friendly project and have been
working closely with primary, secondary and university-
level schools for many years. We organise excursions,
internships and guest lectures that allow students
to connect theory with practice and gain valuable
experience for the start of their careers.
At secondary schools, we have created relaxation
spaces—so-called chill-out zones—because we know
that studying can be demanding and that mental well-
being is just as important as knowledge. We support
competitions such as Hledáme nejlepšího mladého
chemika (Searching for the Best Young Chemist)
and collaborate with universities on thesis projects.
We believe that some of these students may choose
to work with us in the future—and that in doing so,
we help keep talented young people in the region.
Pulp Academy: Our Answer to Generational Renewal
Pulp Academy is one of our key projects. It is
an internal training programme created in response
to generational change within production. The labour
market does not offer enough qualified workers in the
fields our industry requires, so we decided to build our
own academy and train specialists ourselves.
The basic module lasts nearly 100 hours, during which
new employees learn everything they need to work
in our plant—from chemistry and technological
processes to automation. The programme includes
practical assignments and a final project, defended
before a professional committee. Graduates receive
a certificate and the opportunity for further career
development. After successfully completing the basic
module and gaining at least two years of experience,
employees can enrol in the second module, which
goes into greater depth and focuses on selected areas
of our technologies.
Pulp Academy is more than just training. It is
an opportunity to understand the broader context
of pulp production and become a specialist in a field
with a strong future. This project demonstrates that
Lenzing Biocel Paskov is committed not only to the
development and employment opportunities of people
in the region, but also to long-term sustainable growth.
For more than four decades, we have been part of the
Moravian-Silesian Region. We connect tradition with
innovation, responsibility with vision, and sustainability
with modern technologies. At the end of this journey
are the fibres used to create clothing and hygiene
products—each one proof that sustainability is a path
that truly makes sense.
