EDITORIAL
Vážení čtenáři,
český průmysl má za sebou dlouhou a úspěšnou tradi-
ci, nyní ale stojí na křižovatce, která rozhodne o jeho
budoucnosti. Směr ukazují témata, která hýbou nejen
světem, ale i naší zemí – energie, technologie, udrži-
telnost a zdraví. Průmysl ale nemá na růžích ustláno.
Potýká se nejen s nedostatkem kvalifikovaných zaměst-
nanců, ale např. i s globální konkurencí.
Akčním tématem je jaderná energetika. Dostavba no-
vých bloků v elektrárně Dukovany není jen otázkou
elektřiny do zásuvek, ale i symbolem jistoty, že bude-
me mít dost stabilní energie pro příští desetiletí. Vedle
velkých bloků se do popředí dostávají i malé modulár-
ní reaktory, jejichž nasazení se plánuje v prostorách
současných elektráren. Na ně tak může být přesunuta
energetická budoucnost.
Zatímco v energetice hledáme stabilitu, v digitálním
světě vládne dynamika. Umělá inteligence už není jen
módní slovo, ale nástroj, který proniká do škol, tová-
ren, skladů i obchodních řetězců. Kdo se s AI naučí
pracovat, otevírá si dveře k novým možnostem. Ani
udržitelnost nezůstává pozadu. Cirkulární ekonomika
už dávno není jen kapitola v učebnicích. V Česku vzni-
kají projekty, které z odpadu dělají surovinu, z plastů
nové výrobky a z komunálního odpadu energii. Odpad
se přestává vnímat jako problém – stává se zdrojem.
A kdo ví, možná se v budoucnu budeme dívat na sklád-
ky podobně, jako dnes koukáme na uhelné doly: jako
na pozůstatky staré éry.
Zvláštní kapitolu pak tvoří biomedicína. Čeští vědci
a startupy pracují na technologiích, které dokážou
změnit zdravotnictví – od přesnějších diagnostik až
po digitální asistenty lékařů. To, co ještě před pár lety
znělo jako science fiction, se pomalu stává součástí ne-
mocnic. Ovšem pozor na „google” doktory.
Energetika, umělá inteligence, udržitelnost, spolupráce
vědy s průmyslem i nové zdravotnické technologie –
to všechno dohromady ukazuje, že Česko má šanci
hrát v Evropě významnou roli, jen je potřeba se více
prosazovat. Můžeme z průmyslové tradice postavit
most k moderní budoucnosti.
Dear Readers,
Czech industry has a long and successful tradition,
but now it stands at a crossroads that will determine its
future. The direction is set by issues that shape not only
the world but also our country – energy, technology,
sustainability, and health. Yet industry is far from having
an easy path ahead. It struggles not only with a shortage
of skilled workers but also with a global competition.
One of the most pressing topics is nuclear energy.
The construction of new units at the Dukovany power
plant is not only about supplying electricity to our sockets;
it is also a symbol of certainty that we will have sufficient
stable energy for the decades to come. Alongside large
reactors, small modular reactors are coming to the fore,
with deployment planned within existing power plants.
They could well carry the weight of our energy future.
While we seek stability in energy, the digital world
thrives on dynamism. Artificial intelligence is no longer
just a buzzword, but a tool entering schools, factories,
warehouses, and retail chains. Anyone who learns
to work with AI opens the door to new opportunities.
Sustainability is not lagging behind either. The circular
economy is no longer just a chapter in textbooks. In the
Czech Republic, projects are emerging that transform
waste into raw material, plastics into new products,
and municipal waste into energy. Waste is no longer seen
as a problem – it is becoming a resource. And who knows,
perhaps in the future we will look at landfills the same way
we view coal mines today: as remnants of an old era.
A special chapter is devoted to biomedicine. Czech
scientists and start-ups are developing technologies
capable of transforming healthcare – from more accurate
diagnostics to digital assistants for doctors. What sounded
like science fiction only a few years ago is gradually
becoming part of hospitals. But beware the rise
of “Google doctors.”
Energy, artificial intelligence, sustainability, collaboration
between science and industry, and new medical
technologies – all point to the Czech Republic’s real
chance to play a significant role in Europe. What
is needed now is to have stronger self-assertion, and from
our industrial tradition, we can build a bridge to a modern
future.
