Precise Custom Development
and Filters Found in Almost
Every Car
Developing a two-millimetre component is not a maer of “small” producon, but of maximum
precision. The Weppler Group specialises in technical components and micro-lters made
of plasc and metal, which are used in gearboxes, clutches, air-condioning units and braking
systems. Thanks to its unique technology of mesh overmoulding on standard injecon moulding
machines, and its development process from concept stage through to series producon,
the company delivers hundreds of millions of parts annually for vehicles around the world. What
does development with micron-level accuracy look like, and what does it mean today to be a true
technological partner? Execuve Director Mgr. Tomáš Hanzelka explains in this interview.
What is the product portfolio that your company
offers? In what way do you make things easier for
your customers?
Our group specialises in the production of technical,
precision plastic and metal components. The key
products are micro-filters and functional parts made
of plastic and metal for the automotive industry,
healthcare, and other industrial applications.
We make our customers’ work easier by taking over
the entire product development process – from design
and mould construction, through automation to series
production. We offer a so-called “one-stop-shop”
solution, including a 100% final inspection. This means
the client does not need to have in-house expertise
in plastics processing – we handle everything for them.
What kinds of companies most often come to you,
and what do they typically need from you?
Our main customers are Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers
for OEM car manufacturers, as well as the OEMs
themselves. These include companies such as Bosch,
ZF, and Continental. We also work with firms outside
the automotive sector.
A typical order concerns ensuring filtration for specific
applications – gearboxes, clutches, braking systems,
air-conditioning units, and other functional assemblies.
What is the “invisible” part of your work –
something a layperson might not realise, but is
essential?
Customers often only see the finished part, without
realising the complexity of development and the
precision behind it. We manufacture components
as small as 2 mm, which places extreme demands
on mould design, accuracy of shaped parts,
and injection parameters.
Key roles in our company are played by designers,
injection moulding machine setters, and specialists
responsible for the maintenance of plastic injection
moulds. Another crucial factor is our in-house tool
shop, which allows us to provide operational servicing
without relying on external suppliers.
How do you differentiate yourselves from other
suppliers in the market?
We possess a unique technology for the precise
overmoulding of plastic or metal mesh just a few
millimetres in size – and we can do this on standard
injection moulding machines. This enables us to
manage high-volume production while maintaining
exceptional accuracy.
Our fully automated lines ensure outstanding process
stability, which not only guarantees high-quality output,
but also provides cost advantages for our customers.
