First the Scan, then the Machine. The Journey to Efficient Production

58 ǀ POSITIV TECHNOLOGY
How does the integration of mechanics, electronics,
software, and automation within one team work?
Our team operates in a connected cloud environment,
which enables designers, programmers, and technicians
to collaborate and share all data in real time without any
delay. This approach is essential for delivering the final
solution on time and at the required level of quality.
Do you add Industry 4.0 and predictive maintenance
features to your machines?
Yes, and the demand for these functions is growing.
We integrate sensors for data collection, remote
monitoring, and, upon customer request, predictive
maintenance using AI as well as connections to MES
systems. Together with the customer, we can then
monitor the machine’s status online and plan servicing
according to actual wear, which minimises unplanned
downtime.
What new tools or methods have helped you
the most recently?
A major step forward for us has been the introduction
of a cloud-based development environment. Thanks
to this, the client can monitor the machine design in real
time, provide feedback, and see how the equipment
will function even before a single physical part
is produced. The result is faster and more flexible
development with a minimum of errors.
Do you provide servicing after machine installation
as well?
Yes, we offer regular maintenance at prescribed
service intervals, emergency servicing in the event
of sudden breakdowns, and the supply of spare parts,
with the option to keep long-lead-time parts in stock.
In some cases, we also provide predictive maintenance
using AI, which helps to prevent issues before they
even occur.
What has been the most difficult technological
problem you have solved?
One challenge was to suitably automate the production
process at Myco company with the help of a forming
machine. Ensuring the correct production technology
for the product required the design of a unique
machine mechanism. Another fascinating field
is machinery intended for the food industry, where
the design and production must meet strict hygiene
requirements. Finding an appropriate solution that
meets the functional demands sometimes calls for
a dose of creativity.
