Mr. Stejskal, the hospital has changed
a lot over the years. Can you give us
a couple examples of the changes that
took place during your office?
I am happy to announce that we have
completed many development projects.
These include the construction of a new
surgical pavilion, installation of an MRI
scanner, reconstruction of pavilion V,
modernization of hemodialysis, installation
of solar panels and much more. Nearly all of
our facilities underwent complete or at least
partial reconstruction projects. We also have
new delivery rooms including a Neonatal
Ward. Furthermore, we are the Moravian-
-Silesian region’s only hospital to offer its
own stomatological Clinic. Currently we
have three dentists and are preparing to
open a fourth clinic soon. In addition, we
also offer a dental hygiene clinic.
What brings me the most joy, however,
is when our doctors manage to put new
methods and procedures into practice. We
managed to gain the status of Care Center
in Rheumatology, Gastroenterology
and Ophthalmology. We also took part
in the Ministry of Health’s “Psychiatry
Reform” program and constructed
a Mental Health Center.
Our Children’s Ward also underwent
some changes. We created a Children’s
Day Clinic, which offers professional
care to pediatric patients that do not
require continuous care. This is just
one of the ways, along with shortening
hospitalization times, in which we try to
minimize the stress children experience
throughout their hospital stay.
Can you tell us about the hospital’s
plans for this year, and for the future in
general?
Increasing the quality of care our hospital
can offer is our primary goal. The constant
changes within the hospital are part of
this. The installation of a tube mail system
is one example of the changes we have
planned for this year. Our largest goal for
the near future is the construction of a new
multifunctional pavilion that would allow
for isolation regimes, which would replace
pavilion T for this function. This is a very
large project, but nonetheless, I believe
that in cooperation with our founder and
the Moravian-Silesian Region, we will be
able to complete it within the next 4 years.
What would be your closing words for
the hospital and its patients?
A hospital is the sum of its people and
I would say that our team is made up of very
knowledgeable healthcare professionals.
It is thanks to them for which we can
continue to develop. I would like to thank
them for their hard work, enthusiasm and
their care for our patients, as that is our
ultimate goal and that is what we all pour
our strength into.
Mr. Stejskal, thank you for the interview.

Touto formou se snažíme spolu se zkra-
cováním hospitalizační doby maximálně
omezovat stres z pobytu v nemocnici, kte-
rý je u dětí nemalý.
Můžete nám prozradit plány nemocnice
v letošním roce, ale třeba i co plánujete
v budoucnosti?
Zkvalitňování zdravotnické péče je hlavním
cílem naší nemocnice. S tím souvisí i změny,
ke kterým v nemocnici neustále dochází.
V letošním roce nás čeká například vybu-
dování potrubní pošty. Největším úkolem
blízké budoucnosti bude stavba úplně no-
a jejím pacientům?
Nemocnici tvoří lidé a troufám si tvrdit,
že naši nemocnici tvoří erudovaný per-
sonál, díky němuž se nám daří nemocnici
rozvíjet. A tak bych jim i touto formou
chtěl moc poděkovat za jejich pracovní
úsilí, nasazení a péči o pacienty, protože
o to se společnými silami snažíme a o to
nám jde především.
Pane řediteli, děkujeme Vám za rozhovor.
